Another Harley Quinn baffler this week: She easily physically bests Batman in Heroes in Crisis, with Superman and Wonder Woman both commenting that she's as good a fighter, if not better, than Batman.
HOW?!?! Batman had all the time and resources imaginable to become one of the peak fighters on the planet, yet somehow Harley found time between going to medical school/being a doctor and being the Joker's sidekick to reach this exact level of competence? Bah, I say.

I'm completely over Harley now. Deadpool levels of over saturation Welcome to the new world of comics. This is how it's going to be now. The days of Punisher/Wolverine overload are going to look mild compared to what we're seeing evolve before us.

Here's the secret: The writers and editors at DC (and Marvel) aren't in charge anymore. It's the bean-counters in the accounting and marketing departments that are. Like most other things, they're attempting to whittle things down to four or five key brands/franchises that work for them and nothing else.

Harley sells t-shirts and accessories, and all other types of merch So they are going to slap her on everything they possibly can.

Been reading a few Punisher limited series with various degrees of quality
Punisher Born I thought was fantastic and really engrossing but the. I followed it up with Punisher/Spider-Man: Family Plot where Castle is the head of a fricking Mob Family
I felt like Peter Capaldi in The Thick of It “F****** f*** me”. I’m not a “This character cannot change whatsoever” type hardcore fan and will roll with a lot of punches but Christ almighty I almost put the comic down straight away

Just picked up the first issue of the new Green Lantern. Hoping to get it signed by Grant Morrison himself later today.
Haven’t been excited about a run like this in a long time. I love most of Morrison’s work and Green Lantern’s my favourite superhero so it feels like it was made just for me.

Steve Orlando's THE UNEXPECTED ended at DC this week (EDIT: correction -- apparently ends with #8), and they promised a surprising character on the last page. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Mandrakk, the villain of FINAL CRISIS - or rather the villains of that Superman Beyond book that somehow shoved him into being the "final boss" of FINAL CRISIS - is back. Yippee. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}

Everything being so out of sync (not Morrison's fault, believe me) took its toll on me. And that particular twist toward the end (was it a twist, per se? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) did not impress much. I didn't hate FC, but DC made it tough to enjoy it as much as I shoulda.

Mister Miracle #12 drops today. It's pretty good! Depending on how you feel about continuity, you will either think that King and Gerads stick the landing, or that they don't. I think the story works better if you read it as a commentary and remix of Kirby's Fourth World comics. I've read both positive and negative reactions to the issue because of the whole 'is it real? is it all a dream?' and whether those questions were answered well enough or not.
And given Stan Lee's recent passing, some of Funky's lines land really hard.

DC released information about DETECTIVE COMICS #1000, which is out next March. www.comicsbeat.com/dc-releases-details-creative-lineup-for-detective-comics-1000-and-80-years-of-batman-hardcover/Bendis, Johns, Paul Dini, Denny O'Neil, Neal Adams, Kelley Jones, Priest, Alex Maleev and others will contribute. The book's main story, by regular creative team Peter Tomasi & Doug Mahnke, will bring the Arkham Knight (from the video games) into DCU continuity. And like ACTION #1000 it'll have a companion 80 YEARS OF BATMAN hardcover book, collecting reprints, unpublished art from Lew Sayre Schwartz (artwork produced for 'TEC #200), an unseen story by Paul Levitz and Denys Cowan, and essays (from Neil Gaiman and others).

Marvel releasing movie trailer for X-men Dissassembled.
kinda hyped after watching it just out of the epic music... but still getting really tired of the world changing events... especially since there usually aren't any long term effects...

Marvel releasing movie trailer for X-men Dissassembled. Posted a day before they announce their (sigh) NEXT BIG X-MEN EVENT.... Age of X-Man, which is some sort of Age of Apocalypse variation made up of 6 5-issue miniseries.
