Why? Like, don't mean that in a confrontational way or anything -- I just honestly don't get it. Fun dude entertained people, everybody wins. What's to hate about it? I feel like we (by "we" I mean the general wrestling fanbase) just up and decided he was a "fun dude" and "entertained people" ironically rather than him actually connecting with any type of presence or talent. Hell, it feels more like we're making fun of him. Dude was a funny looking jobber. Literally the entire point was for people to make fun of him and how goofy he looks. What are you even talking about?

I saw him post that on FB, and my reply was, "You want Ellsworth. Fine. Send Sami Zayn and Cesaro to Smackdown for him. Not like they're doing anything on RAW."

Not gonna lie, if Mauro and Bryan can commentate on RAW and distract us from how awful RAW Graves is for a bit, I'm down.

And Jericho just dropped an episode of his podcast interviewing Ellsworth. He's moving up!

No ironic love from me, there have been a ton of jobbers since the draft and the reason he sticks out is because he's such the antithesis of a WWE superstar that it's endearing, you root for the guy despite the undeniable odds stacked against him cosmetically and physically. That "anyone with two hands has a chance" promo was delivered with such the perfect amount of false confidence and pure dread. I think they have to use him sparingly but he's a great jobber character. I can already see him have his Maven moment at the Royal Rumble. EDIT: I am also living in fear of what Raw is gonna do to the Cruiserweights.

Just sign Colin Delaney to Raw and call it even.

Do we think this went through the WWE creative team?

He's been the best of the Braun jobbers so far. Plus with his promo before hand, he actually managed to convey the most story for one of the matches so far: journeyman, excited by an offer for a RAW tryout match, only to suddenly realise he's cast as lamb for the slaughter, only to give it his best shot...and die.
If all this has given a random indy circuit slogger (and not even the "name" indies) a chance for national exposure and a chance to make more dosh for himself long term, then that's surely a good thing.

I can definitely see him hanging round as a semi-regular character. Not only have the fans got a connection with him, but going by his AMA, both Vince and Jericho are fans of him.

Reading that story with him and Vince makes me happy. I love when the most unexpected guys get over with the higher ups beyond the expected reasons.

I also like the idea of reoccurring jobbers people who can lose and look good doing it are really useful to have.

Ellsworth is getting over because he's in on the joke. You have to be willing to generally look a little silly if you're going to get yourself over.
I agree with what Vinny on Observer recently said, "'you can't be shy, you have to be a spectacle."

I seriously love all of this. From Ellsworth blowing up, to D-Bry continuing his dickish ways by stealing talent, to Foley possibly setting up a psychotic break/heel turn. Good stuff all around.

What are you even talking about? He is by far the worst looking wrestler I ever seen. Not only is he a guy who you least expect to be a wrestler, but as an athlete as well. He also looks like a 40 or 50 year old man trying to rock a dyed undercut hairstyle and has a cheap looking Offspring tattoo. That's his entire character and it works because he embraced it and that behavior is contagious. He's loved from the crowd and all the boys in the back because of this. I want to see a mini feud of Steph/Mick and DB/Shane trying to sign him like he's a coveted free agent when it's really one giant pissing match between two petty management teams.
