Don't forget them turning Goldberg heel for no f***ing reason other than trying to shock people, and nobody getting a decent World Title run till Steiner at the end of the year. Easily one of the dumber things. When WCW closed, he was still their hottest act. Puts into perspective how over he was to survive such rotten booking - and keep in mind he was never the same draw after that turn. The company should have been built around him as THE babyface having gret matches with Steiner for the year l;ike the classic at Fall Brawl (sans Russo interference). Alas. Didnt they do the same to Sting the previous year? Just stupid booking. Neither of those men should ever have been heel.

I'm pretty sure the Goldberg turn was supposed to be some other major announcement. Something like WCW signing a deal with NBC or whatever, but that fell through and Bischoff scrambled to do something else. The weird thing is that Goldberg didn't really sell the heel turn. Or he kinda went into a tweener role. Or something. As I said elsewhere, WCW's ultimate failure was in squandering Goldberg. It would be the equivalent of Vince signing Hogan, putting the title on him in early 1984, and then jobbing him to Big John Studd or someone in late 1984. Goldberg's demeanor and inability to improve might have prevented him from being a Hogan like draw long term, but who knows?

Since he was the one that yelled that the surprise would be something not even Vince McMahon could do anything about.

Just saw the Nitro where Russo is having a funeral for Flair's career. Shane Douglas and Mike Awesome have matches then get in a backstage brawl with The Wall and DDP. Just as Awesome gets thrown into an ambulance that drives off and Douglas is being strangled by The Wall, it cuts to a "live" shot of guys carrying the casket to the ring...including a fresh and casually clothed Awesome and Douglas lol.

Even after all these years, I'm still amazed Goldberg only got 1 run with the WCW title. Should've put it on him as soon as he returned
Also, Tank Abbott as a main eventer is one of the stupidest ideas I've ever seen. The f*** were they thinking?
