Big Country gets the KO victory and is pissed at Big John for the late stoppage.
I was irritated watching that too. I get why he didn't walk off because sometimes referees have poor judgment and we've seen dudes come back from getting rocked like that, but you could tell the hesitation he felt.
Man, this fight is fine, but it's reminding how much of a mess the featherweight division is at the moment. It's absurd.
He, meaning Barao, has to be better than that against the rest of the division. And Stephens already proved that Barao is way outmatched against the top twenty at least.
I wasn't talking about that, it's more the Conor situation and how there's been no talk about anything on the horizon in that division for the actual champ nor the interim champ, so the nothing in featherweight really feels like it matters all that much to me.
Charles "Krazy Horse" Bennett just scored a seven second knockout in Rizin.
The whole show was absurdly entertaining IMO. It was like 2AM and I was having the time of my life. Some stuff was a bit sad, like seeing Fujita trotted out there way WAY past his expedition date but overall it gave me the same feeling I got watching Pride which, for all the good and bad, is something I've really missed. Also, it's confirmed we're getting Wanderlei/Cro Cop III this December 29th...so Pride never dies, haha.
