When I see Brian Van Gorder on the sidelines for ND, I think, 'why is Kevin Nash coaching for Notre Dame?'

As a ND fan, it's hard to watch this team, and not see the resemblance to the last days of the Charlie Weis era. The program, as a whole, is almost entirely ceremonially at this point. "Come have your career highlight at historic Notre Dame". There's the occasional flicker of hope, but it's quickly snuffed out, and the neverenrkng mediocrity retake its rightful place.

They kept thinking they didn't need to change or evolve for so long because they're Notre Dame, and that will automatically make everybody want to go there. They hired Bob Davie after Holtz, and Davie was horrible, they fired Ty Willingham after giving him no time, and they stuck with Charlie Weis for far too long. Oklahoma struggled for awhile, they evolved and hired Bob Stoops. Alabama struggled for a few years, and evolved. Notre Dame's biggest rival USC did the same thing, they hit a rough patch and evolved. Those teams didn't just think "Oh we're schools with a shitload of history, everybody will want to come here."

Who the f*** fair catches on the 6 inch line?
As someone who returned kicks in school, that's just sad to watch.

Appleby could have ran for the 1st down on that, he didn't need to throw it.

You're spot on. It goes beyond coaching or personnel problems. It's a culture problem.

Is Gus Malzahn an idiot? Why would you go from the shotgun and the wildcat when you're gashing LSU running up the middle?
