I'm still not sure how I feel about this movie. At one hand I'm kind of pissed this destroys the open to interpretation ending if Deckard was a Replicant or not. On the other hand Denis Villeneuve is an extremely talented director and Blade Runner is his all time favorite movie.

I'm not the biggest Blade Runner fan but not only does it look good, but Baby Goose is the actor that reminds me the most of a young Harrison Ford. Can't wait to watch them work off one another.

Is anybody else somewhat concerned that the movie is being released in October as opposed to the May-through-August window in which big-budget blockbusters tend to be released? When I saw the "10.6.17" date at the end of the trailer, it got my attention in a weird way, almost as if to say that Warner Bros. doesn't have a ton of confidence that this movie is going to be a box office hit, so they're hiding it away in October when movies are less inclined to be smash hits and there's less pressure for a movie to be a financial success.

Anyone here read any of the Blade Runner books? Or play the Westwood Studios Blade Runner game?

Anyone here read any of the Blade Runner books? Or play the Westwood Studios Blade Runner game? The game was a pack-in with my first PC, and I played the shit out of it. The graphics and soundtrack were especially good, and the voice cast was excellent. I've read two of the books, and to be honest I didn't really care for them all that much. A little too bleak for my taste.

Never bothered with the Blade Runner books set after the film or the game. This sequel looks good. I was worried, mostly cause Blade Runner is one of my favorite films, but it looks like this will be good.

I'm still just really confused why they're bothering to make it. A movie that did decent but not great at the box office 35 years ago that while having a big impact within its niche and influencing a lot of creators isn't really widely known getting a sequel just seems like throwing money in the wind.

There's been talk of making a sequel for years. Blade Runner has a huge cult following. So much so that they've released box sets with several versions of the movie and they've sold very well. It's kind of rare that people would spend their money wanting to watch several versions of the same movie over and over, outside of Star Wars anyway. This movie will make money. There's definitely enough interest out there for it.

Yeah,Blade Runner might have bombed in theaters in the States. But since then it has a huge huge following. And is considered one of the best modern Science Fiction films.
I saw it in a theater as a kid. Went in thinking I was gonna get something like Star Wars ,well Han Solo was the lead, and left the theater very disappointed. Then in my mid teens I happened to catch it on TV and that time I got and enjoyed the film. Since then I have owned the film on 6 home media formats.
