Now here we are. Speaking on two of the greatest tag teams ever. The Rockers breakup was one of the best turns ever, as we still joke about to this day and it never gets old.
The Rockers took some beatings and were always good at the house shows, never mailing it in. Poor Shawn was always getting mugged inside the ring it seemed. Say what you must about Marty Jannetty, the man loves his fans and parties with them... even I partied with Marty. As for the Hart Foundation I remind everybody that Jim Neidhart kicked much ass in the British Bulldogs feud, being literally the last man standing.
I attribute the moment of the barber shop window was when we first saw Shawn Michaels as a singles guy. Bret Harts' such moment was the ending of the Battle Royal in the ring with Andre The Giant, even though he got dumped muttley.
EDIT:There's your reason, in bold.

So who's the Test, and who's the Albert? Hawk, Davey Boy, Crash, Skip, Cade, Del Ray and O"Haire would all be Test.

Marty Jannetty was a GREAT wrestler, every bit as good as Shawn but the lack of character and problems with addiction curbed his career..

Because Neidhart wasn't a coward who dived through a window trying to get away from Bret. You're right that he didn't but Who did?

Jannetty had the potential to be in the same slot that Shawn occupied, but his personal demons and reckless nature put a stop to that around 1992. Neidhart was never anything more than a power wrestler (and didn't try to be anything else), so the fans knew what his limitations were. Jannetty is seen as a perfect example of what could have been.

The reasons listed, plus the storyline itself kind of drew attention to it, whereas Jim just kind of faded out of Bret's way. It's much the same reason it's not the Stevie Ray. Booker T was always going to be the singles star. Even with their storyline, I don't think anyone was expecting Stevie Ray to get some push because he secured Booker T's T for Ahmed Johnson. It was just filler before he'd get out of Booker's way. Also a factor would be the real life circumstances, where one of the reasons the Rockers broke up was Roddy Piper telling HBK he needed to dump Marty if he wanted to have a future. There were some real life acrimonious feelings involved. The only people that don't think Stevie Ray was the bigger star are low-down dirty low life fruitbooties!!

It's called the Jannetty because of how similar they were during their tag run but how Marty got nothing but a short IC title reign compared to Shawn taking on the best the WWF had at the time. I think early on even after they split that both Shawn and Marty looked quite equal but obviously demons got to Marty way before they got to Shawn. It's bad that the industry makes Jannetty seem like some green jobber when he was a fine worker and really popular but I guess Michaels was just the guy to keep his nose clean during the early years and not rub management the wrong way.

They should bring Jannetty back and give him two year long runs as a world champion just to erase the stank.

Vince did have plans for Neidhart. He was paired with Jimmy Hart and was meant to get some kind of push. I'm not saying main event or anything, but they denied Bret's request to pair him with Jim at first.

Albert was the Shawn and Test was the Marty. Except WWE's constant attempts to push Albert didn't work like it did for HBK.
/Will this thread ruin the Tensai gimmick?

Because the wwe let miz and morrison brand it as such on wwe tv. It wasn't even a thing until they did that and it's honestly unfair. Jannetty was a good talent, as good as shawn was. Shawn was younger, taller and more athletic than marty, and it was made clear to marty that they saw more in Shawn than they did in him. Realistically there was no chance for Marty getting higher in the Wwf beyond being a tito santana.

To tell you the truth, I think it's because Jannetty just seems like that tag along sidekick that would be nothing without the one guy that accepts him into the group. Not saying he didn't have talent but when you look at him he seems like that guy from high school that never changed his appearance or personality. He has the same 80's hairstyle that went out of fashion years ago. He just looks like that weird guy.
