Well, I guess the Blues are now in there finding who they are period. They expected this early in the season but the 3-0 start made people wonder. Now I think where in that period.

The Oilers may have won the battle, but we have the Yakupov.

Here's a tackle from Finnish elite league from earlier this week. Any guesses for the length of the suspension for that?

Oilers do the job in the alumni game.
Wonder what the live crowd thought when you decide on a worked finish?

That SEL hit was dirty as all hell. You do that against most NHL teams and you're leaving a little bloody.

Yeah, Nikkilä tried to come do just that, too bad he is a lot smaller than the tackler, who is former AHLer Antti Tyrväinen. Tyrväinen got 12 games for that one, which is 1/5 of the regular season.

Man, Yakupov looks great. I don't know what you Edmonton guys are thinking. Also, David Perron (who i referred to as subtraction by addition this off-season) is playing great as well.

Rangers starting this season on a pattern. W-L-W-L-W so far. Hopefully it breaks against the Coyotes.

I'm really glad he's doing great. Was hoping he would do a hat trick tonight against the flames but I'll settle with former Oiler Perron. I think Yakupov just really needed new fresh start, new teammates, and most importantly a coach that actually believes in him like Krueger and Nelson did. I'm just shocked Hitchcock is the one to take him in as a reclamation project and it's working well so far. I still feel bad for Yakupov since his sister apparently works in St. Albert as a nurse and his family is still living in Edmonton

So far, he's got really slick mitts and he's very quick. We have such terrible team speed outside of Fabbri, that he's such a godsend. He needs to play 1st line with Fabbri and Stastny, instead of Steen who is sucking this year.

I know it's only been 6 games this season but the Oilers are #1 in standings and McDavid is #1 in points. Is this real life? Or is it just a fantasy? Also this is the best Oilers start since 1985-1986. Yeah I know outside of St. Louis, they haven't played any playoff teams yet. But Goddamn I don't care, they are finally making the most out of there opportunities and not eliminated out of the playoffs by Halloween.

Couldn't make it Saturday thanks to work, but I can't wait to check out the new Martin Brodeur statue that's outside Prudential Center tonight. None of my other favorite teams have done the statue thing, glad to see the Devils get on board.

That angle makes the paddle look like a regular stick. Good for Brodie.

This is either the year the Oilers are finally blessed by the PDO Gods or they crash and burn like an Evil Kenevil stunt.

This is either the year the Oilers are finally blessed by the PDO Gods or they crash and burn like an Evil Kenevil stunt. I'm hoping this isn't the case like that really hot start during the 2011-2012 season. But that was mostly because the goaltending was unreal like I think Khabibulin had a 0.98 GA and a .980 save %. But as Craig MacTavish would say the Oilers look way visually better and haven't folded in the 3rd period or actually attempted comebacks or responded after being scored on. Even during that bad buffalo game they still tied it up after being down 2-0.
