Just about everyone should have a first and last name. They don't have to use them all the time, but it's ridiculous we've got wrestlers just named Neville, Big E, Emma, or Cesaro to name a few. Even Rusev? Yes. Bill Goldberg may be most known as Goldberg, but that didn't mean WCW erased his first name.

What about Sheamus? I can understand them not using his pre-WWE last name in that case. My guess is they think in some cases the one name thing works better, like with Goldberg and Batista.

I feel like this pretty much guarantees Charlotte is going to win the belt again on Sunday. What's the purpose of suddenly giving her a last name? It's so they can do the same thing they're doing with Cena where her title reigns are counted and compared to Ric and play that up big time. So not only will she be the final Divas Championc first women's Champion, first two time women's champion, and a winner at WrestleMania and SummerSlam... She's getting title number three and the accolade of winner of the first women's HIAC.
I actually really like Charlotte and I hope I'm wrong, because she's getting way too many accolades piled on her. Maybe I'm reading way too much into this, but it doesn't seem like something they'd just do out of the blue. Tamina got her last name when she was feuding with Nattie over who had the better wrestling family. I mean they're making a point of saying her full name now, which had never been a thing before.

They'd been calling her Charlotte Flair pretty much the entire time she's been on the main roster.
Like Batista was referred to as Dave Batista.

Good. I'm sick of WWE giving the women astoundingly common names and no surname. Can Paige have Knight as a surname when she comes back? Maybe her and Naomi can both get the last name Knight and a sisters gimmick to go along with it.

Do they get a Joel Gertner? "Ladies and Germs, I give you the All England Women's Tag Team Mid-Cruiserweight Champions, Da Knight Sisters!!"

Good. I'm sick of WWE giving the women astoundingly common names and no surname. Can Paige have Knight as a surname when she comes back? This also bugs me. It's a problem with all of the superstars to be honest, "Dave Batista" and "Sheamus O'Shaunessy" sound way cooler than just Sheamus or Batista. But with the women, to me it feels like a relic of the Diva/Playboy promotion era where they were primarily eye candy characters. Mentioning their surnames gives all of the superstars more dignity and presence.

That's how he spells it for some reason... it's how he spelled it that way before the WWE... probably as it's the easier spelling than Seamus. Good. Mentioning their surnames gives all of the superstars more dignity and presence. It's weird because some people have both names but aren't part of their ring names. Batista was still Dave Batista, as people would refer to him as Dave all the time, but his ring name was just Batista. on the current roster Charlotte was that way until recently. Natalya and Paige also both have last names that aren't part of their ring names. But again it's still some of the time like Naomi, Rusev and Cesaro
