I've been saying for weeks that Foley's GM character makes zero sense. The guy refused to book Cesaro/Sheamus in a rematch to blow off the Best of 7 because he was terrified that these two men might destroy each other. I mean...how? In a typical wrestling match? Then of course to show he's for women's lib he books Charlotte/Sasha in HIAC, without initially thinking these two women might actually destroy each other. And now a week before the PPV he is worried. Further, HIAC was mainly dangerous for Foley because of his own idiotic decisions in said matches. No one forced him to start the match on top of the cell and risk being thrown off. Or thrown through the cage. Not to mention that time that he agreed to referee a Hell in a Cell match and he somehow ended up getting beat up as badly as either of the competitors. The guy is a bafoon.

I guess you could kayfabe that he was cool about it at first but had cold feet after considering his various Cell matches more and more. He would not be the first person to make a decision they'd regret after meditating on it further. Kayfabe the girls watching highlights while Noelle is with them, then getting word back to Mick would have worked just as well. The picture of Foley getting a piece of candy from his then-baby girl while being attended to after his match with Taker would result in him second-guessing the whole idea.

I don't understand the crapping on this segment. This was the only good thing on the whole show. I loved the passion in Mick's voice. And both Sasha & Charlotte were good too. A lot of people are saying that how come Mick did this speech to the women and not Reigns, Rusev, Rollins, or Owens. It's because they are women and he cares about them. The guys can handle themselves. And for the record, Sasha can't watch every Hell In A Cell Match on the Network. One of them was a dark match after Raw and has never been televised.

It... actually made sense to me. He's been in Raw shill mode for a while and that part of him has been promoting the match, but then suddenly the war flashbacks kicked in and he realised what was going to happen.
I'm just glad Sasha and Charlotte were having none of it.

If it's supposed to be about equality, how come he's so worried about the women getting hurt but not the men? It implies that the women aren't as tough.

Flawed writing with mixed performances. Overall I'd still say it was an ok segment.
Women competing in a Hell in a Cell match is a historic moment, but they've focused a little too much on "WOMENS REVOLUTION!!!" and not on the stipulation itself, so Mick's speech was the last minute, "oh yeah, this match is pretty scary" content.
Sasha didn't really leave an impression.
Mick was really good in parts, but the shouting throughout the promo lessened his impact.
Charlotte is frustrating me a little bit. Her promos, her facial expressions, her performance is good...but the shouting ruins it.

Yeah sweetheart that was a really weird segment sweetie. It went on way too long as well sweetheart.
I'd love it if one of them said "Oh really Mick? Shit. Ok ok. I'm out. No thanks. Cancel it!" and just walked away.

If I booked this feud, this is how I would've done it: Stephanie McMahon is obsessed in defeating her brother Shane in the brand split war after SmackDown enjoys better feedback than Raw by the public. After she sees this, Stephanie decides to do something bold to get the upper hand in the race for brand supremacy, she decides to do something that has never been done before: She's booking Charlotte and Sasha, two of the top women in the company and two of the best talents in the Raw roster, inside Hell in a Cell.
Charlotte has been trying to eliminate Sasha for months, trying to injure her at SummerSlam and targeting damaged body parts ever since but Sasha, because of her guts or because of her ego, won't go down and won't rest until she dethrones Charlotte by any means necessary. In the middle of this is Mick Foley, a survivor of the Cell, a shell of a broken man who knows how evil that match can truly be, how dangerous it is to go in there and he has the marks of that barbaric structure in his body until the end of his days. As he sees this, he tries to reason with Stephanie, Sasha and Charlotte, begging them to not go through with the match, knowing very well of the results of such carnage and knowing that Sasha and Charlotte risking their lives and careers for short term glory isn't worth a life of suffering.
Stephanie wants none of Mick's fear mongering, though, encouraging them to fight in the Cell for the sake of the Women's Revolution, a concept she helped promote since last year, just so she could finally portray herself as worthy of one day being the one true heir to the McMahon throne up north. With Sasha and Charlotte being blinded by their hatred for each other and Mick being the deaf voice of reason in all this chaos, the Cell approaches and it's hungry for their flesh, yearns for their screams of agony and thirsts for their blood. They don't know what they've brought themselves into and, this Sunday, this match isn't about winning, it's about who has lost less of themselves inside Hell on Earth... or you can ignore most of this and treat it like a normal match between girls inside a big cage.

When Foley wasn't yelling, he actually did well. He was being serious and putting over the danger of the Cell. Where that all fell apart was Sasha and Charlotte not reacting to it at all. Them acting like Mick's words carried weight would have worked really well. Sasha seemed to try before she signed, but it was too little too late.
This is a big part of my problem with Charlotte. She doesn't sell anything. Pretty much every one of her matches with Sasha, she's not selling anything being done to her. Last night, she's just blank faced any time Foley is trying to sell the danger of the Cell.
Sasha was no better. I don't know why, but every word that comes out of her mouth sounds faker than Milli Vanilli.
All 3 were guilty of this annoying trend in wrestling where people yell during promos or commentary. They're under the false impression that yelling = passion/intensity and no it doesn't. It sounds stupid. Charlotte is the worst offender of this. It's like she thinks she's getting Vickie Guerrero level nuclear heat from the fans and she has to shout over them, but instead she's getting barely above Big Show circa 2014 level heat.
I'll end this post with this. Tonight on Smackdown, Alexa and Becky got about a 1/3rd the time Sasha and Charlotte got. At the end of this night, I am significantly more hyped to watch BEcky vs Alexa in Glasgow than I am to see Sasha vs Charlotte in Hell in the Cell.

I thought Mick Foley was unbearable and ruined the segment. So par for his course since coming back as GM.
Idk what it is, he just comes off... Not phoney, but he never comes across well to me.

I think his recent tendency to seemingly change his opinions based on who is or isn't paying him at any given time has really soured his image.

She can work, but she throws herself around where you think shes going to cripple herself at any time.
Wrestling should look like it can hurt you, not actually hurt you.

As a worker she's too reckless but if reigned in a bit she could be one the best women wrestler's for a long time

That's true. It seems she is trying to "prove" herself and all women by extension on the main roster by throwing herself around. I don't remember her looking wreckless in her NXT matches, but that could just be me forgetting as time passes.
