Up for debate, up for criticism/ Unpopuar sports opinions
I'll start
John Elway is the most overrated QB in the history of the NFL. I'd argue Neil Lomax would have had a better career had he played in Denver.

If Steve Beurelein started every game for the 1992 Cowboys instead of Troy Aikman, they still would have won the Super Bowl

Adrian Peterson is the last Hall of Fame talent running back you'd want in a 4th and 1 situation and it's not even close.
Yet if you don't use him in 4th and 1 as a coach, everybody says you are a moron. AP isn't a short yardage back but most people just can't wrap their heads around that.

I would put "convicted" PED users in the baseball HOF. Baseball likes to act all high and mighty about their history but you can't wash everything away. Guys like Arod, Bonds, Clemens should be elected in. Let the fans do their history on these players and make judgment themselves.

I agree with that statement for the most part, except for A Rod since he got popped way after the Mitchell Report/ the time MLB started to care about PEDs. If I had a vote, I would vote Sosa and McGuire in since in my opinion, the HR chase helped bring back fans after the whole 1994 World Series/Strike debacle.

Bonds, Clemens, A Rod, Manny, Big Mac, Palmeiro, and Sammy should all get into the Hall of Fame. I was glad David Ortiz's "storybook" final season ended with him sucking the big one in the playoffs and he won't go out with a ring. Nobody in baseball has gotten more of a free pass than Ortiz. The guy failed the same test that A Rod did, but that's okay, we don't know what it was for, and he says he didn't take PEDs so it's not really a fail. He celebrates every homer like nobody else, but that's cool, if somebody else celebrates a homer, throw at him. We gotta keep every PED user out of the Hall, except for Ortiz, because that really wasn't a failed test. I think he deserves to go in, but he shouldn't go in if Bonds, Clemens, A Rod, Manny, Big Mac, Palmeiro, and Sammy are left out.

I agree I believe Papi is getting a pass even though he never failed an official test but got named in the Mitchell report. However, I believe the voting is starting to sway in favor of those guys. If you are a guy like Big Mac or Palmeiro who admitted you did your whole career then you prob won't get in. Right now the only ones getting in are those who had the talent "before PED use" like a Bonds or Clemens. A Rod is on a slippery slope because of the 2nd failed test which might hurt a few votes. Same thing with Manny.

Jose Canseco was using PEDs in the 1980s (and for all Canseco's questions, the guy was really, really good at using steroids and equally good at teaching baseball players how to effectively use steroids, which has shown up since the PED use where there's a very small amount of former baseball players to die young as opposed to football players/pro wrestlers), and people knew it all the way back to Pud Galvin in the 1800s.

Yea, I've always said that. My theory has always been if you think everyone was "clean" back in the day then you are naive. This is not to say they did it willingly but if these guys were living on hot dogs, burgers and beers before games we all know their was all types of testerone and shit in those foods based upon how they pumped the animals. Like I said before baseball likes to act like it's history is clean but they should embrace it good and bad. Let the fans do their history and decide for themselves.

I don't even think it was "hot dogs, burgers, and beers"- because they'd get the same effect any other person would at the time. If I say "they already elected PED users", I mean flat out- "they have people who willingly, knowingly took steroids to enhance their performance on the field"- not even beyond "clean history", not beyond anything in foods at the time, not even "well, we know that everyone from our era said flat-out every player was a closet speed freak and admitted to doing it, and indeed that amphetamines will do far more to help you keep your concentration to hit a baseball or throw it accurately...but...but Jim Bouton called them 'greenies' in Ball Four and so it's a cute part of the game!!!!!", but "they took steroids, they know they took steroids, they willingly took steroids, and they did it because they know the effects of steroids on their game."

The 1970s had some of the coolest baseball uniforms of all time, and many teams (I'm looking at you Cleveland) could do worse than bring those looks back.
Unpopular opinion: I liked those White Sox 1976-80 uniforms, screw Chris Sale. I love the saloon-style CHICAGO across the chest. Loved the collars and the untucked look, especially if your big hitters weighed 300 pounds.

I think a lot of them look cool NOW, but I remember as a young kid in the early 90's thinking they were embarrassingly ugly.
I still don't think the old school Astros uniform is acceptable by any means.

The NBA, NHL and NFL should follow in baseball's tradition and have their coaches dress in the team's uniform.

Here's one for ya.
I live in New York City, and there are teams that constantly get the short end of the stick (Or in this case, the least of the back page of the local newspaper.). Whether it's the Islanders, Mets (Who have since outdistanced the Yankees now.), or the Nets, it's a reality that some teams in the city just aren't going to get any spotlight shone on them for one reason or another.
Which brings me to the Chicago White Sox.
Now, I'm well-aware that the Pale Hose are largely irrelevant at this time due to their GM/Ownership being a bunch of stubborn clueless doofuses. But over the last 15-20 years of closely following baseball, I have never seen a franchise get so neglected in favor of another team that shares the city. The White Sox are such an afterthought, and particularly right now, that they may as well be playing in Des Moines.

While entertaining, playoffs are a terrible way of deciding championships. They sacrifice the integrity of crowning the best team to generate extra money/ratings etc.
