Seriously, how many times have these happened? Foley warning about the ramifications of Hell in a Cell. We get it.
Earliest I remember was in the build to Armageddon 2000.

I think now wrestlers must dread hearing about how terrible and evil and frightening the cell is to actually being in the damn thing.

I actually thought, in a vacuum, the one he cut was pretty good. But it pisses me off that he cut it now. THIS should have been the promo he cut when they teased that he had a decision to make, and it could have had more volume to it. Have him use those fears as reasons he won't allow it to happen, and then Sasha and/or Charlotte have to convince him such a match is necessary.
But for him to cut it NOW?!? UGH!!! Would've been better off never cutting that promo at all than cutting it now. The window for a promo like that was slammed shut, but they did it anyway.

That should be Foley's new gimmick, giving speeches well after they're relevant or make sense. Can climax in him interrupting the main event of WrestleMania to give a speech about how overwhelming main-eventing Mania can be.

All of the brain damage over the years has him forgetting that he's delivered the same promo over and over for nearly two decades, I suppose.

The whole "Hell in a Cell changes you forever" speech is just plain shite at this point. HIAC is so overused and watered down now it loses all meaning.

Having Shane McMahon take the biggest cell bump in recent memory and have only a stretcher job and a slight limp the following night didn't really help matters.

Foley: "You don't know how much wrestling The Undertaker can change you. He threw me off a Cell. I don't think you're ready to fight him." Triple H: "I've wrestled him multiple times, 3 times at Mania. And who said anything about me wrestling him?" Foley: "You don't know the psychological scars he can have on you or your family. You don't know the depths he'll sink. Or the depths Vince will sink to if you fail him." Stephanie: "What are you on about?" Foley: "You've never seen the evil in both men." Stephanie: "My father had me stalked, tormented, abducted and tied to symbol by The Undertaker, for a Dark Wedding." Seth: "So are we going to address this whole Triple H attacking me thing?" Foley: "You don't know the depths Triple H will sink to! He'll turn his back on his friends, which is something you won't do! You've never faced him." Seth: "I have faced him, and I turned my back on Dean and Roman." Foley: "You don't know what Canada will do to you!" Owens: "Mick, I'm from Canada."

It was a weird segment but it didn't help that the ladies basically no sold his screaming and just did their standard "I'm the queen!" and "I'm the boss!" promos. He might as well not even have been there.

It forced Bossman into early retirement!

The whole "Hell in a Cell changes you forever" speech is just plain shite at this point. HIAC is so overused and watered down now it loses all meaning. Totally. Like, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins kind of tried to make their one violent at least as far as modern WWE annual Hell in a Cell goes and what ended it? A spooky hologram.

Ambrose and Rollins acted the same before the cell as they did after the cell.

As a long-time viewer, it frustrates me how watered down the HIAC concept has become. From the original in 97 up to maybe Taker/Orton in 05 (maybe even Taker/Edge in 08, but that might be a stretch), it was kayfabe every bit as dangerous as Mick's promo indicated. And we've had some Cell matches that lived up to it in the interim, like the last two. But for the most part, it's a standard wrestling match inside a Hell in a Cell with maybe one or two spots of wrestlers being thrown into the cage. The yearly PPV concept sucked away every last ounce of appeal it had left. Instead of "these two hate each other so much, only the most vicious structure can contain them!", it's "Welp, it's October, let's throw the 2 or 3 top feuds into the Cell". But the concept PPVs like HIAC and TLC do good numbers, so the chances of them ever going away are slim to none. I actually thought, in a vacuum, the one he cut was pretty good. But it pisses me off that he cut it now. THIS should have been the promo he cut when they teased that he had a decision to make, and it could have had more volume to it. Or interrupting a Hall of Famer's speech to warn him or her about the dangers of getting involved in the wrestling business.

Not that I want to see Mick shouted down or humiliated again, but part of me wanted to see Charlotte get fed up with Foley's speech and say something along the lines of:
"You know what Mick, stop it. Stop it with all this crap about how the Cell changes you, and how you're never the same again because of the experience. To hell with all the video packages, to hell with announcer talk, and to hell with your melodrama. You know who suffers in that match? The weak. Tell me something, do you see anyone talking about how Undertaker went through agony in the first two Hell in a Cell matches? Is he out here talking about how this match will leave lasting scars? No, because he went in there and destroyed people. He tortured Shawn Michaels, and he beat you down Mick. Beat you to the point where you've never quite recovered and are now out here claiming that Hell in Cell destroys those inside, when everyone knows deep down that you weren't the victim of it. You were a victim of the better man, just as Sasha will be the victim of the better woman.
You, her, and the all scared people in this arena may look at that piece of metal and see hell. You know what I see? I see a weapon, Mick. I see the thing that's going to get my title back, the means by which this little dream of hers comes to an end, a tool to restore the rightful champion. How about you save your little speech for someone who isn't the best woman on this roster because without a Cell I win, and with it? I just win with a lot more pain on the way. So Sasha, remember one thing. In there Eddie can't help you, Foley can't help you, and these people can't help you. Because Hell isn't a place, its an act. And this Sunday I'm gonna give you every bit of it."

The worst part of this is that it also has just thrown the women's Hell in a Cell into a corner that even the fans are worried that they can't cash (and know they won't be allowed to cash.) Fans are worried about this big a match anyway, solely because even since the HIAC concept was hinted for the women, people were convinced "oh shit, Sasha's absolutely going to kill herself jumping off the Cell." This was out there anyway. By selling HIAC as the duration of this feud, there would be a chance to make it happen beforehand, but it didn't have to if they don't use the Cell that way. It's hovering above the match, but a HIAC can be done by never leaving the ring. However, WWE spent less time of this as the culmination of Charlotte/Sasha's feud, and more time selling it as a huge achievement in the women's revolution this WOULD happen as a match"... ...and in the process, WWE just booked themselves into a corner. Right now, it's etched in stone. They sold HIAC as "an accomplishment in itself and proof the women are just as good as the men!"...and because they sold the match this way, either Charlotte or Sasha ABSOLUTELY HAS TO GO OFF THE CELL. It's out there. Hell in a Cell has its own aura, there are certain things the fans EXPECT from a good Hell in a Cell match (one of them being a bump off the Cell)...and by selling this as such a great moment in women's wrestling history, the whole point is "either Charlotte or Sasha have to jump off the Cell...even though people kind of expect it could end their career or worse if they DID do this...or then the whole buildup failed its mission at the end."

I remember the first one was so awesome. Shawn was beaten to a bloody pulp. He was thrown head first into the Cell multiple times, dropped off the side of the Cell, hit in the head with a chair, chokeslammed off the top rope...I had never seen someone get such an *** kicking in my entire life. It even has one of my favorite moments in wrestling on it: when Shawn superkicks Undertaker and Undertaker immediately sits up with this pissed off look on his face and Shawn is just scared to death. Then Kane ripped the padlocked door off it's hinges and tombstoned 'Taker. And at the end it looked like Shawn literally used every ounce of energy he had left in him to drape his arm over Undertaker and gets the pin. Now that's a Cell match!

First one is one of my favorites. Depending on my mood there's that, the first Taker / Lesnar one, and Triple H / Batista as my main three.
