"Hey TNA fans....do you like watching Impact? Well, great news. As part of our efforts to continue to develop our international presence as a global brand, instead of being able to see it 3-5 days after the US broadcast, now you never get to see it at all! Isn't that wonderful y'all"

So has anyone heard any rumours or updates regarding TNA's broadcasting future over here? It seems to have gone awfully quiet. Not that I'm overly surprised, I was hardly expecting broadcasters to enter a vicious bidding war to showcase this toxic shambles of a company.

That seems to be the idea for most places going forward.

I hope that's a temporary measure because if they go behind a streaming subscription service I think they'll be pretty much finished in this country.

What are the odds that they go the cheaper route and air some UK based leagues like Progress or even WCPW, since they have wads of cash.

Now, take this with a pinch of salt (because the wrong info has been passed to Challenge before) but... we've had our last IMPACT already. Apparently when you get total Nonstop Deletion, we get a best of 2016, but we do get the 'Hardy' s New YearSpecial' on New Year's Day. www.challenge.co.uk/tna-dates-for-your-diary/?platform=hootsuiteAnd I doubt there'll be much more wrestling on Challenge, anything that isn't really gameshow related has long since left the network as contracts have run out, and one of the few images that isn't in their new titles is a wrestling ring. We have a Spike UK now though, so if anything happens back there again we stand a chance (not with TNA, obviously).

TNA's deluded spin is going to look even more deluded when instead of finding a UK partner that's a step down they just flat-out don't find anything and they lose their biggest hope of an international presence.

Good News Everyone! Fight Network are launching a TNA App for UK fans in January! fightnetwork.com/law/tna-plans-to-launch-app-for-u-k-audience/With TNA’s relationship with Challenge TV about to come to a close, the promotion will be launching an app for their U.K. audience.
The “Total Access TNA Impact” app will be available beginning January 5th for £1.99/month on iOS and Android as well as through www.impactwrestling.com/UK with plans to expand onto Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire and Xbox at a later date.
New episodes of Impact will be made available on the app at the same time they air in the U.S. on POP TV and subscribers on the app will also have access to episodes of TNA’s Greatest Matches, TNA Classics and TNA British Boot Camp.
It was announced last month that Challenge TV would not be renewing their deal with TNA after serving as the broadcast partner for the promotion since 2011.Come on everyone! ONE NINETY NINE! ONE NINETY NINE!

That actually seems a decent deal. Not convenient, especially after I believe it was the lone, free wrestling show in the UK, but still not bad.

All joking aside, it kind of does. The only thing right now is that you'd think you'd have prepared something that can be used outside of phones but hey, the WWE Network showed that it's hard to have that perfected.

Apparently, there's been either a last minute change of plans, or the wrong information was communicated *again* - the UK does get TND on Challenge, instead of this bizarre 'best of 2016' - I guess the actual best of is the 'Hardy's New Year'.
I do like the idea of the last proper scheduled episode being the great shark jump, but I wonder how much revenue they'll get via The Fight Network, as I don't know how much traction they've got based on them already possessing all of Challenge's other wrestling content through Alex Shane. Still, if it works, great.

Even £1.99 per month feels a rip-off to watch TNA

pay good money to t.n.a.? f*** no.
I don't think £1.99 a month is worth employing a solicitor to go through the terms and conditions to make sure i'm not signing over my house, all future earnings and first born child to Dixie carter and co.

I don't know what the logic is, but I would presume that only a tiny proportion of the current TNA viewerbase would specifically pay money to see it on TV. If it had been part of The Fight Network UK in general maybe, but online services tend to struggle unless they have presence on Sky or similar.

I wonder if Impact's cancellation is down to Sky planning to be the home of WWE UK and want to get competition for viewers out of the way before announcing a weekly WWEUK show on Sky one or Sports. They own Challenge so it's surprising that TNA have lasted this long on there.

They own Challenge so it's surprising that TNA have lasted this long on there. Sky has been the uk home of wwe/wwf since the mid to late 80's, so that's a no on clearing any competition from tna. Its possible wwe asked for tna to be dropped but that would have happened when they renegotiated their contracts a few years ago for the uk rights so it's highly unlikely it would have taken years for this to happen. More likely tna's viewership dropped beyond challenge & sky's expectations and they just jettisoned a failing show as they have with other shows in the past. Simplest answer is usually the correct one.

I've kinda fallen off watching TNA but even at its peak with Style and Joe etc I wouldn't pay to watch it. It was fine to put on as background noise on a Sunday night and it was fun to have PPVs on random weekday nights but I'll just casually keep up via youtube.
