Someone tell me about these 'microtransactions' things (as someone who doesn't play too many games nowadays). How are they different and/or that much worse than just regular ol' DLC? Are those the things that are luck-based, or is that just the 'loot boxes' things I keep hearing so much about? It depends on the game. Some microtransactions are just small pieces of DLC, some are lootboxes, some are buying in-game currency to skip ahead on something, it really just depends. It's all stuff that's designed to be very cheap to buy, the idea of it basically being to get people to sink huge amounts of money into the game by getting a little at a time without thinking about it.

It's all stuff that's designed to be very cheap to buy, the idea of it basically being to get people to sink huge amounts of money into the game by getting a little at a time without thinking about it. And 2K has been particularly bad with nickle and dimeing microtransactions with NBA 2K and, to a lesser extent, GTA Online. A lot of people have been complaining that good portions of NBA 2K's career mode has fallen victim to VC paywalling, to the point where it's even become hard to get your player better stats without spending VC for them, not to mention the other things like clothes and tattoos, and even had a haircut system where it cost VC to get a new hairstyle for your player. Which is something reasonable until you realize that you couldn't even preview how it looked until you paid for the haircut. And you didn't get to keep the style, you had to rebuy an old hairstyle if you got another one. So far, WWE hasn't quite fallen into that trap yet, MCs are somewhat reasonable in the last game, but most people are expecting it to get worse with 2k20, as 2K's president has stated that microtransactions are a priority for the company's future.

This (supposedly) came from Renee Young's Instagram Story IF this is accurate, it confirms a return to Showcase, with either an NXT or (More than Likely) A Women's Showcase.

Possibly a Showcase centered on the Four Horsewomen? Either that or a Charlotte-focused one. Also, maybe they're replacing Corey Graves with Renee?

Yeah, I'm guessing either a Horsewomen showcase or an all-purpose women's revolution one.
... Both of which sound 100% pointless because everyone of note involved would already be on the roster anyway.

If it is a Women's Evolution showcase, then I hope there is an alternate showcase for the men too. The more people to fill out the roster, men and women, the better.

I would hope that they would go all out in that case, go all the way back in men's wrestling (which would basically mean to go all the way back in wrestling history overall). Procure the rights to Hackenschmidt, Gotch, Strangler Lewis, Londos, Thesz, Gorgeous George, Sammartino, etc.

support.2k.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022298033-WWE-2K18-Server-Sunset-NotificationHere's your yearly reminder to those who still play the last WWE game released right before the current game: 2K18's online features (community creations & online versus play) will shut down on May 31 of this year (much like as has been the case in every recent year). Although 2K says that the rest of the actual game will run still after May 31, even when you can no longer download CAWs or play versus other gamers online. (Good thing they mentioned that, since I think 2K18 was the first in the WWE series where you needed to be logged into your online account, even if it were a free version of it, to play any of the game at all.) It's a fun time of year for me. A mad dash to finalize my CAW roster of 100 before there's no way to add anyone else.

According to a couple clickbait articles on the Facebook, Becky Lynch is supposed to be the 2K20 Cover Star. Reported to be announced June 24th.

So, some Universe troll booking in Universe - Balor beats Orton in the main event of WrestleMania to win the Universal title, as the culmination of a feud that's been going for over a year.
... Two days later he's cashed in on by Baron Corbin.

Kurt angle posted a pic on Twitter of a stack of photos himself with the 2K logo on them and Edge replied "You too?".

"We've become complacent in how we make video games. The solution to this compacentcy is to make another different wrestling game that will stretch our resources even thinner." This is the most Japanese answer to a problem I've ever seen, and completely on brand for Yukes. If we get a good game out of it, I'm all for it. Otherwise...Yikes, is more like it. Also, screw them for overlooking Team Fire Pro. These people suck.

I hope this leads to something less focused on realism. 2K19 was a good first step in going back to the zaniness, and without WWE oversight hopefully it'll trend more in that direction.

I'm really annoyed to learn you can't give Asuka's coat or mask to a guy. Ruins my plans for Noh Way Jose.

I hope this leads to something less focused on realism. 2K19 was a good first step in going back to the zaniness, and without WWE oversight hopefully it'll trend more in that direction. Having different fighting areas other than the big backstage/parking lot area would be really awesome. The Wyatt Compound was an interesting concept, but I’d love to be able to go to other areas like Times Square or even Matt Hardy’s Multiverse area.
