Apparently this is the first entry of The Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe and Russell Crowe is playing Dr. Jekyll and is the Nick Fury of the franchise.
And they already got Javier Bardem signed to play Frankensteins Monster and Johnny Depp as The Invisible Man

Well even Marvel had a unreleated Hulk movie in the span of five years and there was three different spiderman universes in ten years with possibly a fourth if Sony decides to make a non MCU Venom film and animated Spiderman film.

Yeah apparently. Though I did like Luke Evans performance in dracula untold so would of been nice to bring him in since he is immortal. Frankenstein with Professor X and Harry Potter will be ignored tho

Depp as a maniacally crazy Invisible Man might be good. Everything else is a hard pass.

Is that a yes or a no? Legit can't tell. The animated film seems legit since it already started production and has a release date in 2018. The original rumour was it was going to be a origin story for Tom Hollands spiderman but it seems like it's going to be a non MCU film. No idea on the Venom film. This was the some company during its email leaks revealed they wanted to make an Aunt May film and a MITB/Jump Street crossover which turned out to be true.

Well that just looks awful. Couldn't even watch the whole thing, skipped ahead and stopped it early.
This looks like typical 2010's produced action crap and not something that stands out from anything else around it.
The last Mummy franchise was smart enough to make it a period piece, so the look, mood and everything else involved (well until they went way overboard with the CGI halfway thru the 2nd one) was memorable.

The jump scare bit in the morgue got to me...I think that might have been a bit too spoilery though, and it's odd the rest of the trailer does'nt really comment on it. You could have easily taken it out, or maybe reshuffled a few scenes around so the plane crash could have been at the end too.

And they already got Javier Bardem signed to play Frankensteins Monster and Johnny Depp as The Invisible Man This would actually be the SECOND attempt to start a Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe... since the first attempt "Dracula Untold" failed hard. The talk of an Unrelated Venom movie came out well AFTER the email leak and after they announced the Spider-man deal. I have only heard that the Animated Spidey film is still MCU related but it isn't the origin anymore.
