*Mickie James was offered a 3 year deal with WWE. As reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, she is expected to be on SmackDown Live.
*Drew Gulak is finishing up his remaining independent dates, including EVOLVE this weekend, before he reports full time to WWE.
*Evie, Heidi Lovelace, Kimber Lee and Nixon Newell are all expected to sign by at least January 3rd - Johnson has them all reporting to the Performance Center by then, but Evie and Newell being international acts will likely arrive a few months later due to visa processing, with Dave Meltzer reporting last week that Newell was likely to report in April.
*WWE have implemented an evaluation process for independent promotion iPPVs and streams so that staff can track the progress of various performers they have a view on signing. They are aiming for a lot of talent acquisitions in the first quarter of 2017.
*There will be another Performance Center tryout week set for early February 2017.

I'm actually excited about the prospect of Mickie James signing. She put on a great performance against Asuka and showed she can still bring it. Veteran presence won't hurt and she helps strengthen an already strong Smackdown women's division

I was hoping she would go to Raw. They seem to have fewer women on the roster and it feels like we've seen Bayley vs. Dana as many times as Charlotte vs. Sasha. And Nia Jax and Alicia Fox are both nowhere to be found since they don't wrestle anyone else.

I just hope she'll be doing one of her other finishers. I always hated her DDT because she needs the other woman to lift her for it, and they've often had difficulty doing it in a way that didn't look dangerous as hell, either by being too short or having trouble lifting her long enough.
Also, Kimber Lee's name just makes me think of "Human Kimberley" from Catscratch. There is a 99 percent chance I am the only person to mention that show on FAN in years.

Smackdown just feels like it benefits from "Less is more". I'm oddly concerned about them getting too much talent. With only 2 hours they make all their stars matter and have "story". I don't think it would take to many additions to upset that balance... or on the flip side, I don't think it would take too many subtractions to go from "everybody matters" to "roster is too thin"

Either brand could use her. SD could always use another veteran. Raw needs more than the Charlotte/Sasha show.

So do we have pics of these people for WWE Kidz who don't know who they are?  Here's Evie from when she was on NXT last year doing a job for Nia Jax. Specialises in kicking attacks.  Heidi Lovelace, the Punk Rock Rag Doll, one of the best sympathetic babyfaces in wrestling.  Kimber Lee, one of the toughest there is, and a former CHIKARA Grand Champion. Was on NXT this week.  Nixon Newell, who's shot up in popularity in the UK this year. Will join up a little later than the others due to the usual UK visa holdups. |
