Yahoo! Sports' Charles Robinson reports ESPN analyst Jon Gruden "has become a focal point" on the Rams' list of head-coaching candidates. This is all part of the continued branding and selling of the Los Angeles Rams product. It's more important to get a sexy name that you can splash on billboards along the 405 and I-5 than it is to sign a coach that will work to rebuild the team because frankly, there's no time to rebuild. The Rams have been more about drawing eyes and ears than winning games since the ink dried on the paperwork to move them to Los Angeles, which is how you end up with Jared Goff as the first overall pick and Jon Gruden - who hasn't coached in the NFL since 2008 - as a prospective head coach. Whoever inherits the Rams in 2017 is left with picking up the pieces of a franchise that's in tatters. The team is no good, the no. 1 pick quarterback might be a bust, the star running back has fallen off a cliff in what was supposed to be his breakout year, the defense that was being touted as one of the best in the league is a sieve, the team has no first-round pick in 2017 and has one pick in the first three rounds, and they're stuck with some bad contracts that will prohibit them from making a splash in free agency. Outside of the now-vacant Jaguars head coaching job, there may be no less attractive gig in the NFL than coaching the Rams. No offensive player can succeed in this system. Jared Goff is trying, but the speed of the game is hurting him right now, as well as an offensive line that has been garbage all season. Gurley is being run out of the gun moreso than he is in the I. I seriously think if lined up in the I with a fullback, he's a better back. But we limit him so much to just single back dive plays in the "A" Gap where we have a Center that's most notable performance was 2 fumble recoveries against the Seahawks last year. The defense is a product of beating up on bad offenses and is only as good as the pass rush, which is still effective but the DBs are down to almost nothing from injuries. The Rams will likely be compensated with a 3rd. A first is missing and that is a bad thing, but its not the worst thing. Its one season and there is more talent on this team than is being seen. The ineptitude is a product of bad coaching. They remind me of the Rick Kotite Jets. You have the players but the wrong system and the wrong leaders.

there is a lot more talent on the Rams team then their record indicates
Gurley is a beast, while it's a little too early to completely judge Goff his WRs blow just like the men who are supposed to be protecting him and Fisher couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag
the Rams defense is great and should be able to carry the team but aren't historically great like last years Bronocos team
I think a good coach could've easily made them an 8-8 team at the worst

Had anybody mentioned the NFL wanting their own developmental system?

So, the annual exhibition game that most players don't give a crap about had their rosters revealed.
The Cleveland Browns have more participants than 6 teams.

From Chris Boswell's (the Steelers kicker who made 6 field goals on Sunday) twitter, he was selected for the random drug test this week.

He'll be fine if they can build a running game around the offense.

So apparently Panthers LB Luke Kuechley has cleared concussion protocol and wants to play the last two games, but Carolina is a bit weary of the idea.
As much as I love Luke as a Carolina fan, I probably would not play him in these last two games because it will take a miracle for Carolina to make the playoffs and those last two games are going to be against divisional opponents, who I don't trust to not be wanting to take him out.
