My ex grew up in Port Colborne. My wife's from Buffalo, NY, so I remember passing through there when I'd go to visit. Neat I'm from and still in Buffalo, NY.

If you haven't been recently take a trip downtown to Harbor Center as they call it. It's down by the arena the Sabres play in, they have ice skating, curling and a huge Christmas tree up right now. I'm sure they have a bunch of stuff going on down there at that time, although I haven't actually looked. It really does look a lot better down there than a couple years ago.

The difference between the last time I personally went to Canalside (about 2012) and now is astonishing. We're really hoping to stop by there at some point.

They got a pretty nice restaurant down there called 716 (Buffalo area code if you don't know) that has some pretty huge TVs and decent food too. It can be a bit of a wait but usually not bad if you don't go during a Bills or Sabres game. Sorry for hijacking the thread into a Buffalo tourism discussion. But I've always loved this city so if I can say something good about it I try to.

And it's my understanding they have a big Tim Hortons down there too with a bunch of Buffalo-centric treats. And don't worry, you don't have to sell me on Buffalo. I'm actually working on my dual citizenship right now so that the option to live there is open in the future.

My husband works downtown. I use to be part of Dan Gilberts little empire, down there, but corporate life wasn't for me.
