So what were your favorite episodes from 2017? Mine were Paul Heyman in the wwe and Houston Wrestling. They're in my top five. Jeff Jarrett, Doink, and Goldust were good too. Vince Russo in the wwe was hilarious. Russo calling out Conrad for using Russo's own book as the main source of information was funny. Houston Wrestling is their top episode IMO, like ever. As for the rest of 2017, in no specific order: the episode where Bruce talks about him being fired, it was super uncomfortable. Piper's episode was good, so was the Million Dollar Man episode, and Cornette's episode. You would notice...just about all of these episodes were from the first three months of the year. I really think the quality has gone down a bit post-Mania but you can still see hints of the charm of the old episodes when Bruce talks about Jarrett and Savage.

That getting fired episode it's sad, like when Bruce started to realize that it was years in the making and he told Conrad that he should've cultivated a better relationship with Stephanie.

Listening to the Vengeance episode...so Ric Flair walks away from a contract that paid him $800K per year to come back to the WWF and probably not even make half that?

Ok, so I know I'm MAD late to the party because I've been preoccupied with other podcasts, but the Russo episode was fascinating. I'm working my way through the Jarrett episode and it's just as good so far. If you haven't heard them yet, do the steroid trial and 1997 Royal Rumble episodes. Along with being great, they're the origins of about 80% of the running gags from the rest of the show.

I think it's more likely his WCW/TW contract expired shortly before he signed with WWE in 2001, and Bruce/Conrad just had that detail wrong.

Well you know...you take the chicken That becomes even funnier when you can actually identify a friend or family member who talks that way. In line with the chicken salad, the segment during episode 22 when Bruce does a bunch of people ordering lunch is maybe my favorite funny moment of the series.

I quit Tony's podcast when they switched to the watch-with-us format, I also gave up on the "What Happened When" podcast because of this. I typically listen to podcasts as "background noise". I'll listen to a podcast while driving, working out, cooking dinner, etc. The "What Happened When" podcast requires you to set aside three hours of your day to watch a PPV from 20 plus years ago, and I don't have the time to do that these days.

I think you don’t have to play it with the ppv’s. WHW is the best background noise podcast, it is really long and doesn’t require you to be real invested.

About an hour and change into the RAW episode and it's been a fun episode so far. I always enjoy the episodes on stuff from pre-2000, seems like Bruce is more engaged.

Really enjoyed the Monday Night Raw and Vengeance 2001 episodes. Length was shorter than the 5-hour marathons and the show felt more concise and had a great flow. The Raw episode specifically I thought was fantastic.

I've just listened to the Piper episode; man, Bruce got emotional at the end - and understandably so. It's easy to knock Bruce for being seen as a 'yes man', but I sometimes think that people forget that these were his friends, some of whom he was very close to. When it's a character specific episode, especially if that person has passed, I think Bruce is more engaged out of respect for his friends.

I thought the announcement they have for the Brooklyn live show was Bruce appearing on the 25th Anniversary of RAW, but it's probably something else. Will be interesting to hear what it is...my shot in the dark guess is their podcast will be on WWE Network.

Given Bruce seems genuinely contrite, realising he should have cultivated a better relationship with her, who's to say it wont be a genuine moment? That would be nice, but I think she genuinely dislikes Bruce. It's just my opinion and I may be wrong, but I think she's the main reason why Bruce never returned to the wwe. Bruce said he called Stephanie asking for a job after tna fired him and she answered that they had nothing for him. That was weird, Bruce worked for the company for more than twenty years and gave invaluable contributions to the wwe but she just passed on him? This is the same company that apparently fired writers every week but they can't fit Bruce fn Prichard. Bruce didn't deserved to get fired. He told the head of security about the gun, and why he couldn't left it at his empty house, but Stephanie can't give him a pass? But apparently Michael Hayes still gets to keep a job despite all the shit he has done over the years.
