The right guy won and received the best looking championship belt in the last decade.

Do uh...what becomes of this title now? I assume that they play a few video packages in the coming weeks showing off the tournament, Dunne's behaviour and Bate's win. Maybe they'll have Bate appear at TakeOver in a "in the crowd" segment. In the longer term, they'll see if they can get a UK TV show going, if not in their desired time frame, then they'll probably add the UK guys to NXT. Also, this tournament was brilliant (easy to watch and really fast moving show) and, even if the match quality wasn't as good, I think I preferred it to the CWC because of the stories they created and the fact that the UK brand has a clear direction going forward (with Dunne as the top heel and Bate as the valiant babyface champion). I'm certainly a lot more familiar with some of these UK guys now and I'd love to follow it more closely now. I doubt we see Bate at Takeover by any means, to be honest. The fact that Tyler Bate's 19 years old and won the title seems to be a good smoking gun for the UK-based thing. Since Tyler Bate won the title, it's clear he's under contract for WWE outright...but WWE has also been steadfast about the age minimum of being 21 years old to be in the Performance Center and WWE. If they make a UK TV show, then that'll handle Bate in-country...but no matter what happens, it seems likely Tyler Bate will just spend the next year working in the UK, likely defending the title at indies, on the UK TV show, and maybe on UK tours- and then when he turns 21 he'll drop the title to some other under-21 UK prospect WWE wants to lock up, and then move to the US and Performance Center.

Loved the whole thing. Dunne, Seven, Bate and T-Bone were my favorites. Can't for the life of me understand some of the hate for Bate, I thought he was great. Dunne is a superstar, I hope he only stays with the U.K. only stuff for a short time, cuz I think he'd be great in NXT or on SmackDown.

Tournament was fun. Not great, but fun. Pete Dunne is an absolute star and should be the big deal going forward.
The complete lack of shoulder selling ruined the main event for me. You can't just do your normal big spots - and ADD a crazy big spot in the triangle counter - and then make some "Oh this hurts!" faces afterward. Totally sucked me out of the match. Dude's in a kimura and is nearly completely neutral faced. Boo.

Good show. Wolfgang should of won though. Bate has no charisma.

I'm glad for Tyler. It's nice to see someone from Netherton being successful, rather than hanging around the same pubs as my former father-in-law until gout sets in.

Quality show. Really enjoyed the final.
Pete Dunne is fantastic. Give that guy a contract. Wolfie and Andrews also stood out for me. Reckon all three would be worthwhile signings for the WWE. Pete Dunne though has proper star quality. His finisher and the X-Plex are awesome moves.

Is Tyler Bate the youngest title winner in WWE history? I know Dupree was (wasn't he 20 when he won it?), anyone know if Bate beats Dupree's record?

Hearing a ton of praise for this, this is a huge coup for the UK indy scene to have a WWE Championship being defended on it, which I think will happen at first. Kind of like the old territories days when the NWA Champion would work different territories etc. I have zero knowledge of the UK indy scene but thats what I am picturing, I am not sure if they should go full throttle and strike while the iron is hot with a UK based Network show like NXT & 205, or wait a while until they get their ducks in a row.

Congrats to Tyler Bate! Oh man, this song is gonna be stuck in my head for a good while... Now it even makes more sense why Trips chose him to win. Tyler Bate is ridiculously over. The pops he got everytime he goes for the Tyler Driver 97 were insane.

I had no expectations for this. At all. Know nothing about UK wrestling. I loved it. Freaking loved it. I love everything WWE is doing right now other than the weekly Raw show(their ppvs are still good).

Going on match quality and character stuff, I'd be surprised if they don't sign or attempt to sign Pete Dunne, Wolfgang, Both members of Mustache Mountain, Mark Andrews and maybe that Gradwell guy.

I reckon WWE is looking at the people who made the quarter finals and saying "Get used to these guys because we're signing ALL of them!"

I've heard a lot about this "Mandrews" guy, but I stopped watching TNA back in early 08. Man that guy is good.

The only thing about Mandrews is having a move-specific counter as a high-profile signature move.
It means that "Kidman Syndrome" will kick in and people will go for the move that leads to that counter late in matches when logically there's no reason that they should do so.

So how does this work? Are they going to have weekly shows soon? No one quite knows yet. Triple H said in the press release that his hope, much like the CWC is for it to lead to a show on the network.
