I don't presume to know the extent of Bryan's problems, but if a crusty old Bret Hart can have a (awkward, plodding) match at Wrestlemania after the Screwjob, the stroke, and Owen's death on the company's watch....
...well, like everybody else has been saying, never say never.

As much as I like the Miz's work, if Bryan was going to wrestle another match, it shouldn't be wasted on the Miz. In the unlikely event that he was ever to have a match, I don't think they could have a more perfect opponent than the guy who his entire debut storylines were built around, from being an NXT pro/rookie to replacing Miz against the Nexus at Summerslam to winning his very first title from the guy. They've always worked as perfect opposites as rivals, one playing the humble indie guy being held back, one playing the smug WWE-made 'must see' champion and movie star getting all the opportunities. It's a great contrast, and amplified by how well they play off each other. And hell, we're not going to get the high-workrate match that the likes of AJ or Seth might be able to have with a non-retired Bryan. If he needs to be protected, you could do worse than the guy who can tell a story without big unsafe bumps, who could be trusted to let Bret Hart beat him for a title.

I'm pretty sure Bryan will find his way back into a ring but it won't be with the WWE. If I was Vince I wouldn't do it simply because of the legal precedent. You know all those cases WWE has to fight in court over whether or not they knowingly put people at risk? This would give plaintiffs an awful lot of ammunition.

His WWE contract will expire, and he will wrestle on an indie, and he will do permanent damage to himself. More than he already has.

Never in the WWE, not while they're being sued over and over and over by former workers over not taking concussions seriously, long after other sports had proven concussions are bad.

Bret's own career was ended by a concussion; any journalist who wants dirt on the company probably already knows that. And while his Mania match wasn't good and by all accounts made people uncomfortable, he still pulled it off. Brock, meanwhile openly admitted to a history of brain trauma (I don't think he'd lie about that) and he's mostly been treated as their biggest badass.

If he wrestles in WWE again, I'd guess it would just be a well protected tag or squash match.

Brie is PREGNANT. Never say never unless you risk leaving your kid fatherless.
