Another school year down today. Keeps going quicker every year. Today was tough. Most of my 8th Graders who graduated were kids I had for all three years of middle school (feeling like Mr. Feeny). Very bittersweet to see them go. What am I going to do during my summer break, you ask? Go back to work on Wednesday for Summer School, of course! Godspeed to you. I can't imagine being a teacher in this climate. Shitty kids and shittier parents.

That's what keeps me going.

"Can I tell you what I said to (random person from 20 years ago)?" "No, I'd rather you didn't." "Well, I only told her--" why the f*** did you bother asking me if you were just going to ignore my wishes, as always, and tell me anyway?

"Yes, I'm standing right next to you." "So, that guy was waiting to cross the road..."

I’m going to see Slipknot for probably the 5th time in July. It’s been awhile and I’m pretty psyched! I’ve kind of grown out of a lot of their music, but their hits are still bangers and I love their new track.

I've got a crush on a girl at work, but from what her friends have told me she's not interested in dating. I'm terrible at reading people, so I don't know whether to leave it be or go for it. Perhaps try being her friend instead of trying to date her. Having a crush on someone can mess your head up with desires or expectations. You gotta clear your mind of that stuff. She’s just another person. The key is not to pressure her or make her feel uncomfortable in any way at all. Be very casual. Maybe she’d grow to like you over time if you got to know each other with no strings and something more could happen in the future. If not you might just end up with a cool friend you can talk to and occasionally do stuff with. If she doesn’t seem interested in being your friend then you gotta let it go and move on. Try meeting someone else that might be interested.

OK, phrasing, FFS!
There's a story making the rounds about how a woman took a nap while flying and when she woke up, the plane had reached it's destination and all the other passengers had left, as had the entire flight crew, without anyone waking her or telling her. She was left buckled in a powered-off plane, sitting in her seat alone in the cabin ('cabin' is another word for the big room in an airplane where all the passengers sit.)
Here's how my local news worded it on the screen:
"WOMAN FALLS ASLEEP ON AIR CANADA FLIGHT AND WAKES UP ALONE IN A DARK CABIN"

Just saw a Suburu Outback...sedan?
The f***? I never knew that there was anything other than the wagon.
My whole world is topsy turvy.

I can't accept anyone writing that headline and not seeing how it could be interpreted. Also being that woman would be HORRIFYING.

So I live in central Illinois. We've had storm after storm after storm lately. Flooding, power outages, repeated near misses with tornadoes. Tonight, our relative good luck ended-- a tree across the street either finally gave due to the wind or was struck by lightning, but a huge part of it fell off and landed in the street in front of our house between the two houses over there. I believe it landed on this van that was parked over there too. We saw the neighbors from the left of the tree looking it over with flashlights, then we saw the neighbors on the right looking it over. I figured SOMEONE would call the cops but almost two hours passed and nothing.
I have the non-emergency number for the police station in my phone, so about 10:50, I called and told them. There were various things they were busy with, but I was listening to the radio dispatch online and heard them say around midnight they were gonna come and check it out. This cop apparently tried to move it but it's wedged between two trees so he sat there for an hour with his headlights on the tree while they called out a city truck and barricaded the road around it so no one would try to drive around it, then they finally left.
Why did no one else call the cops? They had no clue before I did. Heh, ugh, nice goin', neighbors.

My boss's boss's boss's boss told me today that I need to stop being an idiot and finish my Administration Certificate so that I can start moving up in my school district.
...I just need someone to pay my tuition and go to school for me, haha.
I have been looking up programs recently and I think I found a good one. It's all online and seems really straightforward. I can see all the syllabi online and it's mostly just "read this, write that...read this, do a project on that." It's not hard. I just have to get the fire back under my butt to do it.

My phone has been extremely quiet the last three days. Except for solicitors, they never rest.

Every single teacher I’ve ever worked for tells me to get my ass back in school. (I’m a paraeducator/instructional assistant) But yeah... just a matter of finishing school and also paying for it.

Add me to the list of teachers telling you to do it. I was a para for a year while I was looking for a job and the pay is not good and you work harder than the teacher sometimes. Might as well get paid the right amount to do all that work, you know? That's where I'm at right now. I have so many responsibilities that the school has given me that I might as well just make it official and become an admin.

I bought the Stephanie McMahon workout DVD. The description on the back, was hilarious.

Anybody here get diner's remorse? Last week, I tried a new to me burger place that tasted like 5 Guys. I don't hate 5 Guys, but I've had gourmet burgers for the same price, give or take five bucks. To add isult to injury: I was spitting distance from the gourmet place last weekend.
