Regal was at AJPW tonight. A week or so ago, someone on my Twitter was joking around that they would never get to see a tag team run of Shuji Ishikawa and Braun Strowman Well I guess weirder things have happened

Isami Kodaka is the new Strongest-K Champion, after defeating Kengo Mashimo yesterday. Taka stepped up as the first challenger.
Daisuke Sekimoto and Yuji Okabayashi successfully defended the BJW Tag Team Championships against Tsutomu Oosugi and Hercules Senga yesterday. Their next defence will be against Daichi Hashimoto and Hideyoshi Kamitani, who have dubbed themselves "Okami".
Konosuke Takeshita retained the KO-D Openweight Championship over Yasu Urano yesterday in what was also Urano's last match in DDT as a signed talent. He is now a freelancer. On the same show, Minoru Suzuki and Rocky Kawamura beat Super Sasadango Machine and Sanshiro Takagi in Sasadango's return match. MiSu and Takagi will face off next month at the Tokyo Dome in a street wrestling match.
On July 4 at Korakuen Hall, Koji Kanemoto faces Mizuki Watase in the main event of DNA 34.

Kakihara has been recovering from a battle with a malignant lymphoma since late 2014, and will be competing in a sparring match against Yoshiaki Fujiwara on the show. This will be the first time in about 6 years that Kakihara has competed. Also announced for the show will be two matches taking place under UWF rules, as Naomichi Marufuji faces Takaku Fuke and Masakatsu Funaki faces Minoru Tanaka.

Suzuki vs Takagi in the Tokyo Dome Street Wrestling event was one of the most entertaining things I've ever seen. From the bases counting as rope breaks, to Suzuki murdering everyone, to all the wonderful guest appearances (Aja Kong sings the national anthem, Meiko Satomura throws out the first pitch, Genichiro Tenryu giving pitching advice), to the final reveal that Suzuki and Takagi's next match will occur on a uninhabited tropical island. I just had a smile the entire way though and laughed for the right reasons though most of the match

Anyone watch All Japan? Just watched the 6/11 show, pretty good stuff for the most part. Big AJ supporter here. I've been loving it all year long. Akiyama has done a great job of building up a credible main event scene, with guys like Miyahara, Suwama, and now Ishikawa as the heavyweight mainstays, and people like Zeus, Bodyguard and Omori ready to step up whenever a new challenger is needed. They also have far and away the best tag team division of any promotion in Japan imo. They've come a long way in the past year. June 2016 June 2017

Sneaky good roster and I am totally behind Ishikawa and his "be the Jumbo become the Jumbo" run.

I've been watching for a few months, especially the Champion Carnival mainly on YouTube, but finally found the full shows and really enjoyed them. Went back and watched a few Miyahara title defenses, good god the match with Suwama at Sumo Hall was amazing.
I have checked other Japanese promotions before, but outside of New Japan, nothing modern has ever really clicked with me.
I do enjoy the tag division from what I have seen. Also, outside of the guys you named, I really like KAI and Jake Lee.
Also, just looking at the schedule, a few interesting things;
7/5 "Growing Up VOL.4"
-Jun Akiyama & Takao Omori vs. Tomoyuki Oka & Katsuya Kitamura
-Kento Miyahara & Jake Lee vs. TAJIRI & KAI(I'm looking forward to this one)
Then the title defenses on 7/17 "Summer Action Series"
- World Tag Championship Match: [75th Champions] Zeus & The Bodyguard vs. [Challengers] Jake Lee & Naoya Nomura
-Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship Match: [56th Champion] Shuji Ishikawa vs. [Challenger] Suwama
No surprise there with Suwama defeating Miyahara.

Hiroshi Hase will come out of retirement on July 26 to team with Riki Choshu and Tatsumi Fujinami against Muta, Kabuki and TNT (Savio Vega) at Pro Wrestling Masters. This'll be the first time he's competed since 2006 and I'm pretty sure the first time an actively serving politician has wrestled a match.

Hase's not just a politician, he's the current national Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. It's pretty hard to think of someone at that level stepping into the ring...

The Ishikawa/Miyahara rematch will be great.
Also, there should be quite a few good matches here.

Most people probably opted to watch the G1 opener (myself included) but I caught the last few matches from Ryogokutan and managed to see Sekimoto and Okabayashi vs Ito and Abdullah and Takahashi vs Ueki. Both were awesome.
