So basically, it was the perfect song to represent the Suicide Squad movie. As someone who kinda liked Suicide Squad? Yes. That movie is pure "EXTREME 1990'S!" in its tone. Same. Saw Suicide Squad this weekend and thought it was pretty fun.

Twenty One Pilots definitely. I stumbled across a YouTube video and the comments were just hilarious.
Definitely would have been a band I would have been into around 14. God, 14 year old me sucked.

Kids are still in to Green Day? They were big when I was a teenager well over a decade ago. Hell, they were big when I was a teenager well over two decades ago. They had their first major label release 2 years after I finished High School 24 years ago. I asked my cousin's 15 year old,who cause of various things going on is a very angry young man what bands he listens too.And I think I have had a big influence on his music tastes. "Bad Religion,Pennywise,NOFX,FEAR and The Putdowns."

They moved on to Metalcore. Like, the internet means noone has to pay attention to the radio these days so there's more than one mainstream. Metalcore tends to be the one most teens who'd previously be into emo are now into. There's also Deathcore which is more extreme, but the people who listen to that are the dudebros that beat me up in highschool for being an emo. Deathcore... *shudders* Indeed. Endless breakdowns and pig squeals. No thanks. Though, Carnifex released an album recently and one of the singles had some elements of some black metal in it, and the breakdowns were down pretty tastefully. Not something I'd see myself buying, but not too bad. A buddy of mine recommended them to me, because he knew I liked metal.

The Putdowns were a Southeast Texas country punk band from the early to mid 2000s. I use to spend most summers and spring breaks babysitting this lil cousin. So he heard all those bands cause of me. And AFAIK Bad Religion and NOFX are still putting out albums and touring. The Putdowns keep on talking about reforming but I doubt it ever happens. Now if I can just get him into the Ramones,Johnny Thunders and Elvis Costello.
