Such a great match, I just wish they had made it to the Rumble or something so it wasn't just "Finally they got the record, now we can move on".

Honestly, losing right after breaking the record makes it a lot less impressive, imo.

I think New Day is legimate better and more deserving than Demolition. They did a good job explaining that The New Day might be heavily fatigued from defending the title twice against four different teams on Monday and accomplished the big goal of breaking the record so the drive might not even there. Also the match is a true MOTYC and that ending was perfect and unique. I don't think I ever seen that spot before of doing a fake out tag. That was perfect.

I liked the ending to the match a lot. Never seen that done before and it made me mark.

What's wrong with breaking a record for the sake of breaking a record? Some time in the future it'll happen to New Day as well, and it won't mean out of a desire to erase them from history or anything like that.
They deserved the reign for most of its length, at some point they saw they could make a little bit of history by extending it a little longer, and after that point they made the right switch to arguably the only other tag team getting good crowd reaction at this time.
Win all round, I feel.

I told everyone that this is what would happen. In previous threads I told everyone the day after they broke Demolition's record they would drop the belts, and guess what, it happened. It wasn't about breaking the record or making history, it was nothing more than so Vince can be his petty asshole self and erase Demolition and make it so they never existed. I do wonder. Personally, if I was a Vince and had a vendetta against Demolition, I would never even mention their record and their name, until TND beat it. You really want to piss off someone, forget they exist entirely. Before Randy Orton won, did the announcers hype he would be the youngest champ, to piss off Lesnar? (He probably did, lol) But then again, Vince can be petty. OT: Long live the kings, they were over without the titles, so good on them. Now turn heel again and beat S and C. To beat...Demolition's other record. Dammit, McMahon!!!

Now we are going to have a best of 7 Sheamus and Cesaro v New Day 5 month long hot potato with automatic rematch clause.

Literally a case of 'You broke the record, now you can lose'.
Hope they all go their separate ways now.

Like, Sable and Raven, Vince would have more likelihood of having a grudge with, or Alundra Blayze. All three haven't been erased. They also made more mention of Demolition than they did with AJ Lee when Nikki edged it out. I'm not saying the case is non-existent, but it's really weak.

He may not get on with them at the moment, and cause of that they won't get into the HoF any time soon, but Vince is a businessman.

And even if it's 15 years before some team breaks New Day's record, someone will have a screen grab of Big E's "Black Excellence" tweet ready to go and say that's why the (new) record got broken.

Literally a case of 'You broke the record, now you can lose'. Hope they all go their separate ways now. I think you could easily end New Day today (because how many more stories can you tell with these guys?), but they move a ton of merchandise. I'm curious to see where these guys would be positioned in their own. Kofi has always been in a sort of midcard purgatory with stop-and-start pushes. Big E was in the midcard, too, but that was before his charisma and mic skills were given a spotlight. Xavier is a great talker, so there are a lot of different ways you could go with him. The question is are they still as valuable right now as a unit without the titles, which became a big part of their act.

They're not breaking up yet; they just recently started putting that Owl symbol on their gear, and you know they're going to want to capitalize on selling as much "WHO?" merch with the owl on it before they go their separate ways.

Demolition got a long reign because WWF wanted to kill the Road Warriors comparisions. And when they hired the real deal, Demolition fell out of importance. New Day breaking their record is because they are a hot act. Not because WWE wanted to wipe away a tag team from the record books that most got to on Wikipedia or Cagematch to see who they actually wrestled. New Day is still over and one of the top acts in the company. Cesaro and Sheamus got the momentum. I'll laugh though if they lose the belts tonight to the Revival therefore killing their accoplishment.
