Here's every PPV-like Network special they've done this year -
Royal Rumble Fastlane Roadblock WrestleMania 32 Payback Extreme Rules Money in the Bank Battleground SummerSlam Backlash Clash of Champions No Mercy Hell in a Cell Survivor Series TLC Roadblock: End of the Line Takeover: Dallas Takeover: The End Takeover: Brooklyn II Takeover: Toronto
First off, thank God judging by both ticket sales and Network subscriptions the, "19 PPVs a year!" thing looks to be an utter bust and like an idea they're dropping from next year's scheduling thus far, because this year's been insanely overstuffed and I couldn't remember a single thing about half of these shows without looking them up first. That said, I'd personally rank them, best to worst, as something like...
Takeover: Dallas Takeover: Brooklyn II Takeover: Toronto Backlash Takeover: The End Money in the Bank Battleground Royal Rumble TLC Roadblock No Mercy Roadblock: End of the Line Fastlane Clash of Champions SummerSlam WrestleMania 32
I didn't watch Payback, Extreme Rules, Hell in a Cell, or the majority of Survivor Series.
Also really telling thing is I think the Takeovers and Backlash are the only ones of those shows I would call outright good.

ranking the 1992 PPV's would be a tad easier...but 2016? that should take a few hours to think about

Using Cagematch, and not including Takeover or the first Roadblock (and bearing in mind that people are still watching Roadblock: End of the Line, so that show's rating is very likely to change)...
1: Battleground - 8.07 2: Royal Rumble - 7.63 3: Money in the Bank - 7.59 4: Backlash - 7.50 5: Payback - 7.23 6: Extreme Rules - 7.15 7: TLC - 7.09 8: Clash of Champions - 6.46 9: No Mercy - 6.29 10: Hell in a Cell - 6.26 11: Survivor Series - 6.03 12: SummerSlam - 5.58 13: WrestleMania - 5.54 14: Roadblock: End of the Line - 5.43 15: Fastlane - 4.23

These are ranked best to worst:
NXT Takeover: Dallas Backlash NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II NXT Takeover: Toronto Battleground Money in the Bank NXT Takeover: The End... of the Beginning TLC Extreme Rules Payback No Mercy Royal Rumble Roadblock Hell in a Cell Fastlane Clash of Champions Roadblock: End of the Line Survivor Series SummerSlam WrestleMania 32
I'd say that after the Royal Rumble, it goes from the shows I actually liked to the shows I endured.
Also, hopefully next year they realize that quantity doesn't beat quality and they scale it back down to like 12 to 14 PPVs excluding NXT shows (I don't mind having single brand PPVs in alternating months with maybe 2 PPVs in certain months to prevent having one brand from having either two months to build to a show).

I saw almost all of those shows, but I don't remember a damn thing about 75% of them. They had as many PPV/Specials this year as they had from 1987-1991. It's too much. Not to mention severs of them were 4 hours plus a preshow. Yeesh.

Takeover: Dallas Battleground Backlash
Battleground deserves mad love. It's the usual "maybe I'll check out one or two matches" WWE B show and it turned out to be pretty good.

As far as the main roster, Battleground rocked. The Shield three-way deserves a lot more love.
