I don't wanna see Fox go yet. Get rid of Cutler and give Fox another year to show some promise at rebuilding the team. Isn't this his 2nd season with the Bears? They at least give you 3. That's why I said no.

So Sean Payton is rocketing toward Fisher-ville with possibly his 3rd straight 7-9 season.
Yet, I never hear anything about his job.

Payton has also been in the playoffs in this decade, 3 times in fact, unlike Fisher. That being said, he's stagnating and I think his best days are behind him. But I also thought that about Andy Reid.

Payton and McCarthy both strike me as coaches that could flourish in a new environment ala Reid or Tony Dungy when he joined the Colts.

Updated for today's news on Kubiak and McCoy. Kelly is up in the air at the moment.

I don't know how much I liked Chip Kelly's gameplan, but he got shafted with an inept GM and a supreme lack of talent thanks so said inept GM.
However with the GM also out, it makes sense they fired Chip so the new GM/Coach combo can come in on the same page right from the first step.

That team was destined to fail due to the talent on the team and he was only given one year to turn it around?

Do gotta wonder why Ron Rivera is not on the hot seat Because up until this season, the Panthers have been doing very well under him, they were in the Super Bowl last year. If he has another season like this, then he definitely could be on the hot seat. Also with those mentioning Payton, I have heard rumors that he is out the door.

We won a division before last year because the NFC South Division sucked. Our GM needs to be fired and if that means getting a new head coach as well, I am fine with that

Looking at the six head coaching vacancies in the NFL, here are my own theories as to who could get hired in the coming weeks and months.
RAMS: Jon Gruden (most recent job: Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach) - It's the stupid thing to do, considering Gruden hasn't coached in the NFL since 2008, but it's the sexy big name that the Los Angeles Rams are looking for. Ever since the franchise relocated from St. Louis, they've been more concerned about grabbing headlines off the field than winning games on the field. There may be better candidates out there but no name is sexier than Gruden. They'll be able to affix his mug to billboards around Southern California because they just want to fill seats at Memorial Coliseum more than add numbers to the win column.
JAGUARS: Tom Coughlin (most recent job: New York Giants head coach) - At 70 years old, he's not exactly spry, but what the Jaguars need is someone who can come in for a few years and get that program back on track and Coughlin's the best available candidate for that. He's a two-time Super Bowl champion who can take that talented young defensive core to the next level and maybe he'll help turn around Blake Bortles' career the way he did for Eli Manning in the Big Apple. He's also a former Jaguars coach, having led the franchise to the most success it has ever seen.
BILLS: Mike Smith (current job: Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator) - Smith has turned around the Buccaneers defense during his one season in Tampa Bay and he has three Sporting News Coach of the Year awards on his resumes. He also helped to change the culture in Atlanta after the disastrous Bobby Petrino era, so he might be just the kind of person to help turn around what is slowly becoming a mess in western New York.
BRONCOS: Vance Joseph (current job: Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator) - I thought for sure that this job would be gifted to Wade Phillips, considering the way he's led the Broncos' dominant defense, but after reading the tea leaves following Gary Kubiak's resignation, it seems that all indications have Joseph as the proverbial favorite to land this job. He's young at 44 years old and as a former player he can command respect in the locker room and given the way the Broncos melted down in the final few weeks of the regular season, they need someone who can grab some of those players by the scruff of the neck and get them in line.
49ERS: Josh McDaniels (current job: New England Patriots offensive coordinator) - I'd be surprised if he left New England, considering he's the heir apparent whenever Bill Belichick hangs up his tattered hoodie, but the 49ers need to bring in a coach who is a game changer after the Jim Tomsula and Chip Kelly messes. McDaniels could take the job largely because the 49ers have the second overall pick in the NFL Draft and he'd be able to grab basically whoever he wants as a cornerstone for the franchise.
CHARGERS: Darrell Bevell (current job: Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator) - After getting cussed out on the sideline by Richard Sherman earlier this season and after six seasons as the Seahawks' offensive coordinator, I think Bevell is ready to move on and I think San Diego (or Los Angeles, wherever the Chargers are playing in 2017) would be a solid landing spot. The team is on the precipice, they just need someone who can lead them in the final few moments so those narrow losses become close wins.

On paper before, Jon Gruden would be the sexy pick for the Rams as a name "himself". However, with how the coaching carousel has fallen, there are other sexy choices for the Los Angeles Rams to get a coach besides going to Gruden there- if you wanted a sexy name, wouldn't, presumably, it be an equally sexy pick for the Rams to say "Okay, we're hiring BOTH Chip Kelly and Rex Ryan- giving Ryan full defense, giving Kelly full offense"? It's not Jon Gruden- but if you could get both those guys to agree to platoon like that, there's not a sexier coaching duo available, and gives the possibility for San Diego to go for the sexy choice if they end up in Los Angeles (either by Gruden, or seemingly the equally viable "the Chargers trade the 7 pick for Sean Payton" option.

He has been rumored to say that the only job he would go back to coaching for is the Indianapolis Colts job, purely because he would like to coach Andrew Luck.

He's been out of the game for 10 years and isn't even being discussed by ownership. Coughlin to the Jags I can see, considering I've heard of maybe 1 or 2 other candidates for the job. Its a terrible hire IMO because he's way too old and too over the hill. I think the Bills are looking to hire Anthony Lynn full time. But after that game yesterday, Idk anymore. Broncos are going for Kyle Shanahan, and I think he will take it. Mike is John's former HC and I feel like Elway already has him penciled in. Wouldn't be shocked if Josh went to the Niners. Same for Bevell in seattle.
