McVay must have killed his interviews to be in consideration for a head coaching gig at 31. He's a pretty good offensive mind but being the leader of the team is so different.

Why did the Bills hire another defensive guy? You'd think the would finally get someone who could put an offense together.

Buffalo and Denver are said to be the two teams after former Chargers HC (and Denver OC) Mike McCoy for their OC positions.

Even though Rex Ryan is a defensive mind that was really the side of the ball that cost the Bills a few games this year. If they can nail down a QB and second receiver they should be fine on offense.

The only other possibility might be Gary Kubiak in Denver, but those rumors are only because of Kubiak's health and it feels like Wade Phillips would inherit the job if Kubiak does step down.Don't do this to me. I am already depressed enough this time of year. Wade Phillips, great defensive coordinator, terrible head coach. If Denver does this, it would be incredibly stupid.

Vance Joseph (DC Dolphins) got the HC gig thankfully. Wade is a free agent and might be back or might be going to LA to DC.

With the Chargers signing Anthony Lynn as head coach, that leaves the San Fransisco 49ers as the only team with an opening.

I can't decide if I actually like the Rams' hiring of Sean McVay or if I just think I like it because I wholly expected the Rams to do something insanely stupid like hire Jon Gruden or Bill Cowher. A part of me still feels like McVay's hiring was more about selling tickets and advertising the team than winning games, because McVay's the youngest head coach in NFL history and he's a California-looking guy whose face they can splash on billboards as the team wallows in the mire of another sub-.500 season.
As for the Chargers hiring of Anthony Lynn, all I can do is doff my cap and congratulate the Chargers on taking the crown of "the stupid Los Angeles team." Of all the coaching candidates out there, they hire the guy whose one solitary game of head coaching experience was a humiliating 20-point defeat to the Jets in week 17, in which the Bills players collectively had zero interest in taking the field, let alone putting forth a worthwhile effort for Lynn.
I'm willing to start taking wagers: who wins more games in 2017 - the Dallas Cowboys or the Chargers and Rams combined?

So it seems San Francisco is waiting on the Falcons to lose so they can hire Kyle Shanahan but the interesting thing to me is, the staff. Waiting this long the majority of the hot assistants are off the market, leaving who? Got to think he will need/want someone with HC experience to turn to if needed. Between this and the roster it seems he is setting himself up to fail.

With the hiring of Kyle Shanahan, the 49ers have filled the last coaching vacancy.

With the hiring of Kyle Shanahan, the 49ers have filled the last coaching vacancy. I'm actually glad that John Fox didn't get ousted from the Bears. If nothing else, just for the sake of consistency. I want to see what they can do with a healthy team and no Cutler.
