Two shots left to avoid infamy.
Their Christmas Eve game seems like their best shot and it is tailor made:
At home, freezing cold weather against a warm-weather Chargers team with nothing to play for, potentially without Melvin Gordon, snakebitten in the 2nd half all year save for the Atlanta game in October.
And considering where their season finale is- Cleveland has one win at Heinz Field since its 2001 opening- I doubt they avoid 0-16 in the final game.
Can they avoid dubious football history?

If they win against the Chargers, will Matt Millen and others from the 08 Lions pop a champaigne bottle the way the 72 Dolphins do once no unbeaten teams are left?

Part of me hopes they do and they do so by upsetting The Steelers at home, keeping those f***boys out of the Playoffs.

Only the Browns are shitty enough to screw up a perfect season. 0-16 is way more interesting than 1-15.
At least when you go 0-16 you more or less have every excuse in the world to change anything you want about the organization. Except the owner... who might actually be the main problem.
lol browns

The only thing shittier than screwing up a perfect season at 0-16 is to go 1-15, just as bad and dire...and then see the 49ers beat them in a tiebreaker for the number 1 pick because of it.

Man Cleveland's a great sports town with loyal fans and a team (I'm merging the pre-1995 Browns legacy with this team) with a history. Their fans deserve way better then this crap.

LeBron & the Cleveland Monsters got them championship gold & the Indians were super close to winning the World Series. At least let's keep the Browns bad for the sake of history.

As a 49er fan, I certainly hope they avoid it. I want that No. 1 pick!

Who are currently the "It Guys" for the 2017 Draft?
From what I know, 2011 has Andrew "Suck for" Luck, 2012 was "Clown Me for" Clowney, 2013 was Manziel (before his career was derailed due to alcoholism), 2014 was either Mariota (Suck for Duck) and "Shame Us for Jameis" Winston, and I don't know about 2015 or 2016.

They're going to do what we (Packers) did in '88. They'll win their last two games, the Niners will lose theirs, and the Niners will get the #1 pick. Whether the Browns then draft a dud between two hall of famers is up for discussion.

Whether the Browns then draft a dud between two hall of famers is up for discussion. No, no. That's just normal. The Browns do poorly? Normal. They do just well enough to give the Niners the number 1 pick? Closer to this. Niners get the 1 pick, the Browns draft a dud between two hall of famers? Warmer, but still not Browns enough. The Browns do poorly, win a game so the Niners get the number one pick, then Cleveland trades the number two pick to New England for Garroppolo in the offseason- after which New England drafts a future hall of famer and Garroppolo proves as ineffective as Matt Cassel was outside the Patriots' system? Now THAT'S CLEVELAND BROWNS ENOUGH.

Meanwhile in Losertown, the 1976 Bucs and 2008 Lions pop open bottles of Miller High Life.
