I can't be the only one who loves when this happens?
I find it hilarious when a face comes steaming to the ring only to get made to look an utter goober. I remember there was a spell where Kofi had a monopoly on the failed run-in for a while. Perkin's failure on Raw was glorious.

Austin has to be the king of successful (and badass) run ins, but I wonder who the Austin of unsuccessful save attempts is.

I remember it happening a few times in WCW with whole factions (nWo, Raven's Flock) running in on Goldberg.

I loathe that sort of thing.
It just makes their entre run in pointless and therefore causes me to lose interest because if the person is gonna just get beat up as soon as the they hit the ring *and* not have any sort of comeback, why bother booking them to do a run in the first place?
Sure, if it was an undercard guy, I can see it. But when you do it with somebody that's supposed to be high up and good, why would you make them look like a freaking chump?

When was the last time a heel ran in, hit their finisher or passed along a weapon or something, and then the guy they were helping just straight up got the three off of it? Seems like every bit of interference lately backfires, ends in a DQ, or sees the guy interfering suddenly lose 75% of his competence and get smacked away instantly leading to a roll-up or something, like WWE thinks just the interference isn't protection enough for the face and he has to get his heat back three times over along the way.
Think last time I can think of was AJ / Cena at Money in the Bank but no clue what the last time was before that when an interfering party actually looked competent while accomplishing causing their guy to win. Unless you want to count New Day I guess but they basically play all their matches like handicap matches and like you aren't supposed to see it as cheating with the way they're all buddy-buddy with Cesaro despite repeatedly screwing him over and attempting to do so in the match where they lost. Usually when a heel does it you just get Jericho's antics where he's either causing his guy to get DQed or he gets swatted away like five times before actually managing to be of any use.
That said the TJP thing was pretty funny.

I love it when babyfaces are late to the run in, and end up at the same numbers disadvantage the first face fell victim to. Come on TJ, you knew what would happen when "I'm the man with the plan" hit out of the arena speakers, you can get there before Swann gets his ass kicked and you might stand a chance.

Ah yes, doing an Ahmed.
The New Generation Podcast has coined that term after Ahmed Johnson did a hilarious failed run-in.

Gangrel during the Edge/Jarrett match at Fully Loaded '99 is another one of these. The lights go out and it all looks like it's going to be one of The Brood's bloodbaths, but the lights go on and he's just laid out on the floor.

Perkins getting KTFO immediately was hilarious. I cackled like a goon.

Someone (Sheamus I think) tried jumping Orton during his entrance, but Orton figured out that it was coming from the crowd reaction, and kicked his ass.

My favorite is when Hardcore Holly did a run in on Raw in 99 and immediately got hit in the face with a chair.

ECW used to do this a lot. Run ins galore, and everyone got their ass kicked until New Jack came out and started beating people up with Nintendos and crutches and stuff.

How about all the times Shawn Stasiak tried to attack The Rock only to fail?

there was a period Kofi Kingston and R-Truth would do run-ins to try and save the faces but failed every single time.

Droz did a run in on an Attitude era match between The Godfather and Steve Blackman, only for the Ministry of Darkness to come out and take out everyone in the ring. Quipped King on commentary: "Well Droz has the worst timing I've seen in some time."

Austin has to be the king of successful (and badass) run ins, but I wonder who the Austin of unsuccessful save attempts is. I seem to remember Austin running it at the end of Raw several times in 1997 when he first turned and would end up getting beaten down by the whole Hart Foundation.

When I was reviewing that for Sex, Swerves, and Stunners, I literally had to stop the video because I was laughing so hard.

Didn't Kid Kash try to help at One Night Stand only to immediately fall over the top rope?

MAN, I remember when The New Day was still heel and John Cena was still doing that US title stuff. The New Day beat the shit out of Cena and because Ziggler was still ****ing clown shoes, his "help" screwed over both Cena and himself.... ....then instead of running out to give the faces the advantage while they were still upright and chase off New Day, Those Damn Dudleys come out after Cena and Ziggles got their asses beat...leading to the New Day to beat the shit out of the Dudleys too. Amazing. #ThanksZiggler
