That's poorly worded, but I was thinking of AJ Styles and how quickly he re-invented himself as a WWE branded wrestler. Like, Goldberg I never bought in the WWE. Just didn't fit, and his entire lacklustre run was based on, and compared to, his work in WCW. Ditto Sting. He just did not fit in WWE, especially because he was barely seen in the first place.
But someone like AJ Styles, with years on the clock at TNA, has never seemed like a fish out of water or another company's guy, he's 100% a WWE guy now. I sometimes see photos of him in TNA and have to remind myself it's the same guy.
Ditto Kevin Owens. Spent years in different companies, but seems to me like a pure WWE creation.
Anyone agree? Is there any more recent high profile signings (Samoa Joe, Nakamura, Balor) who seem rebranded to you, or do you constantly see them and think of their former companies?

It's hard to look at a Joe, Nakamura, or Balor as a "WWE" creation because even though nXt is under WWE, it really does feel like a seperate company.
Guys who've been on the main roster for a good while tend to reinvent themselves to fit in better. Like a Punk, Bryan, or even Jericho.

Punk is a good example, because I don't think he was a good fit at all for about a year or so. I wasn't familiar with him outside of WWE but I didn't think he really gelled with the company until later.

That's what makes guys like Styles and Owens so good. They're versatile and quick studies. They're able to adapt to what works in WWE quickly while still being their own guys.

memes aside Zayn and Generico seem like two totally different people...It's crazy because I was a huge fan of him and Steen in ROH...It took me awhile to accept Daniel Bryan as well specially after that one off promo where he said Daniel Bryan was a loser but Brian Danielson wasnt...which I thought was gonna go somewhere...Never bought Low Ki or Colt in WWE same with Punk till after WWECW

Also i love Roderick Strong's in ring work but he lacks natural charisma and I don't think I will ever buy him as a WWE guy...Hope he proves me wrong

The thing with AJ is that while he did spend so much time in TNA he looked completely different. For the majority of his time there he was this clean cut preppy looking jock type. He started growing out the scruff and long hair towards the end of his run but he never looked the way he does today. I never associated him with TNA when he first arrived but he did have that NJPW vibe to him and the Bullet Club redux did him no favors. But I do agree that once he flew solo on Smackdown he became a completely new character and reinvented himself into someone who has felt like a major WWE superstar for the past decade. Not surprising considering we're talking about arguably the greatest wrester of his generation.
