So getting caught up on nxt and man does he stink. They had the best commentary team since Jr and king and ruin it buy adding this dope. The Madea Halluer stuff is really getting to me and he seems to be talking over phillips. Also talking over the Roode entrance.

It honestly seems like a conscious effort to make a more diverse (though still completely male) commentary team, with a black guy on each show. It's just a pity the three black guys they're using are absolutely f***ing dire.

I thought he sounds okay, a little more comfortable this week. It was hour 4 of the tapings so it makes a little sense, I do think he'll get better. He has got to be there to eventually take some of the load of of Corey though. I just wonder who they'll try and use to replace Tom.

WWE's obsession with more than 2 commentators is really becoming a pain in the arse. When you have 2 guys who already have great chemistry like Tom and Corey, adding a third can really complicate things.
The CWC was perfectly fine with two commentators, and NXT spent 90% of the year with an on-form two man team. The formula for commentary seems so straightforward, but WWE do their best to avoid that formula despite having the talent to do it?
Remember when JBL was a great commentator? Remember Beast in the East where Michael Cole seemed like a completely different person? That's the annoying part, we know that the stuff is there, but WWE refuse to use it properly.

Or they are creating a backup plan in case Corey Graves who seems to be groomed to be Michael Cole's heir gets promoted, replaces Cole, or over worked by commentating three different shows and leaves NXT. Plus Watson isn't bad. Not good but he isn't really noticeable in a good way. And this is what his first set or second set of tapings on the job? Graves was pretty rough when he first started. It could be worse we could have Riley or Albert instead.

Why can't we just have two commentators that act like themselves or at least normal and not robots

Man, those were the days when that guy had a four page hate thread every week, huh?

He's awful, but it is a new role for him so maybe he'll grow into it.
I do hate the three man teams, though. For the life of me I don't understand why WWE does this.

Him wanting to get himself a Bobby Roode-type robe in order to make pancakes was kinda funny.

Even I'll admit Percy is a bit of a third wheel in the booth right now. I think they're grooming him to be Corey's replacement, but I could be wrong. It's hard to excel when you have two great established commentators already there. I would give it a few more weeks before piling dirt on the guy.

I could see him replacing someone but if it's Corey he needs to get his heel on and quic cause this morph of saxton and mauro stinks. Hopefully phillips and Corey will finally get called up together and Percy can play face to someone else. No team needs more than two commentators

He's shown speaking ability and charisma in the past, I'd give him time before writing him off. Doing commentary is a different animal than a quick promo.

I don't know why they don't just move Mark Henry or Big Show into a commentary role.
Both have shown they're good commentators when they've done guest spots in the past, both are winding down their careers and both have been good, loyal employees for the WWE so deserve a non-wrestling role and continuous paycheck imo.
Show especially would be a great colour commentator.

They're qualified, but I doubt either one would want that gig...traveling at that size has to suck, especially if you're not even in a starring/big money role.

Plus, I think the company would have the same perception problem they'd have with guys like them being managers, it hurts the product when the biggest, strongest people on the show are the commentators.

NXT is developmental, Percy Watson has no experience of commentary so he's there to develop his skills, much like Graves, and if/when he improves he'll be given a shot on one of the main shows. This is the problem with developmental being treated like a third brand, it's exposing people who are there to learn, if NXT were only screened at 3:30 at night in Louisville, no-one would care that he's not the finished product.

No Way Jose will defeat Nakamura for the NXT Championship. Percy Watson will eventually challenge Jose for the NXT Title in the most epic feud ever. This is all leading to Percy's eventual WWE World Title run. These are the things I keep mumbling to myself quietly in a corner.
