It's my least favorite of all the chants. You might as well chant "The booker made the right choice". I hate when fans outright acknowledge that it's scripted. It kinda depends. If it's something like WM30, where the challenger had been busting their ass for a fair chance, going through a long ordeal, it feels less egregious, since it still makes sense in kayfabe that they deserved the title shot, etc.

For some reason I never thought of it as such. I guess that's just my cynicism coming out.

Like, if it's at the end of a grueling journey, that's one thing, but if it's something like Paige winning the Diva's championship on her debut, it'd be a silly chant.

The best "You've still got it!" chant is the one Ricky Steamboat got at WM. Well and truly deserved.
Kevin Nash of all people got a nice, non-ironic "That was awesome!" chant when he did that very smooth armdrag against Jay Lethal.

I've said this before, but the only chant that I really can't stand is "We are awesome!" which, to be fair, I've only heard maybe a couple times.

I'm not a big fan of the chants in general, but "This is awesome" is at the bottom of the list because people chant it at freaking everything. I witnessed it happen right after the guys got in the ring. I can't remember if the introductions had even happened. I sat there thinking, "They might shit the bed, one of them might pull a Kevin Nash running across the ring to lock up, it might end in 12 seconds, you don't know. But you already know it's awesome." This happened to me 3 weeks ago in a match between RVD and Tommy Dreamer, the chant was running while the wrestlers were taking 5 minutes to start the goddamn mathc between constant hugs and handshakes. We also got E-C-W chants and obiously you still got it chants. I think that it will be an overkill to say which was the quality of a tommy dreamer match in 2016

I'm all for "You deserve it" chants after a fan jumps the guardrail and gets his ass handed to him by one of the wrestlers, or something similar.
