I wonder why they never made this an official stable. I remember they helped Cena during his feud with JBL and that's about it as far as I can remember. I think they could of made a good group.

Cena apparently hated it. In the Jericho interview on the network he said that CTC stood for Change the Channel.

Cena also went out for surgery right as the storyline was happening.

They did, but Cena announced it literally the week before he broke his neck against Batista

Cena has had them, the Usos, and Big E as random "sure, why not" friends. All of them got more out of that role than Ryder did.

WWE tried to make it a thing because how popular Cryme Tyme was and wanted Cena to be part of that and vice versa. But then JBL is Poopy happened and killed that. WWE tried to the same thing years later of pairing Cena with the hip, popular tag team of Enzo and Big Cass. It lasted for a couple of weeks before that got abandoned.

Cena was likely just too gangster and a bad influence on those guys.

If you've ever read any of JTG's e-books (and if not, go look them up because they're a riot) about his and Shad's time in WWE, the fact it never went anywhere was probably more due to the massive amount of nuclear heat Cryme Tyme had throughout both of their runs.

Bottom line: Cena Ruins Everything LOL This, really. John produces zero rub. In fact, it's been established his " friends" often end up worse than they would've been, were he not involved.
