I actually think this concept is pretty interesting. They talk about things in a shoot/podcast style, but in kayfabe. I like it. Plus, I am a huge Rosenberg mark, I love that guy.

Is this always going to be Heyman and JBL? I'm not sure I can handle that amount of obnoxious at the same time every week.

I think it's a good show, or at least format for a good show. Rosenberg was great, JBL was good, but Heyman really brought the show down both by being in character and by yelling down at/insulting Rosenberg.

It's odd how good notorious bully and blowhard JBL is on network shows.

It's odd how good notorious bully and blowhard JBL is on network shows. Helps he has some experience given the Legends with JBL stuff and a few other things where he's headed conversation and moderated. I feel like Heyman is probably used to one on one shoots where he's doing the talking, hence the Michael Hayes level of interrupting and conversation monopoly.

"WWE talks down to its fans" seems like a horrible talk show format, and yet it feels so quintessentially WWE. Maybe it's because I haven't watched it, but the whole format of "WWE Presents : 'SHUT UP, NERDS!'" is somehow amusing to me. Not because I want to be a contrarian or because I "hate good things", just because the E is obviously so very insistent on being this way (especially when it comes to RAW) until AT LEAST Stephanie's dying breath that I can't help but chuckle at the stubbornness of it all.

Oh I agree, there's something about WWE's breed of stubbornness and belligerent hostility toward its fans that I think is almost unprecedented as far as coming from so many different levels and from people who aren't sacked for shittalking the fans, and all while WWE remains a driving force thanks to its market dominance. There really aren't many companies in a position to do what WWE does, or who would do what WWE does. Makes for a f***ing fascinating thing to behold.

I watched and can't believe that on a show featuring JBL, Heyman was the one who was the most annoying. It's baffling that the conter-cultural head of ECW is now towing the company line more than anyone. The sad thing is I think I would have enjoyed this if it was just Rosenberg and JBL since they were having a good convo over Heyman's rantings.

It's not much of a surprise at all; a lot of Heyman's edginess came off as pretty performative, all things considered. He was playing a gimmick and using the whole counterculture wave to keep fans and wrestlers in an almost cult-like devotion to ECW, but I don't think he ever truly believed it himself.

The hand holding the mic in the opening of the show looked like a Smackdown fist. Reminds me of the current Smackdown Live intro that starts with the fist flying.

I always thought the fist from the beginning of Talking Smack was supposed to be the classic Smackdown fist in motion.
