At least she has respect enough for the Deadman to not do her emasculating bullshit and adlib interruptions with him. Even when he made a point to walk over to her and tell her she doesn't control him. Was nice to see that she can back off and let a moment breathe when she wants to.

Don't worry, she made up for it when she totally verbally dominated Sasha and Bayley earlier on. Don't ever call her Steph!! She is a strong woman!! ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!

Look, I can get how it'd be annoying for people who hate the character, but I stopped giving a damn about anything Stephanie says or does ages ago. I'm not going to stop supporting my favourite wrestlers, male or female, one f***ing iota less just... just because some woman talks down at them? Because that's always the implication I get with all these emasculation comments... "I literally can't be bothered supporting this wrestler anymore solely because they're not allowed to punch this c***'s teeth down her throat".
Let the baby have her bottle. Besides, anyone who'd be impressionable enough to take Stephanie as this super cool badass like so many of us like to joke about, would likely also be impressionable enough to take the show at complete face value and ignore all that because she's still the damn bad guy, especially based on her interactions with Banks and Bayley tonight. HOW THE F*** DO YOU GET SUPER COOL BADASS FROM THAT?!
(Needed to get that off my chest)

I get why they do it from a heat standpoint and a weird, ass-backwards "the company wants her to look good on TV" one, but good god is it unbearable. It's a finer point that gets lost in a lot of the "Steph is responsible for killing everyone's heat" hyperbole that ignores that Creative does a good enough job of that already, but I really do think it's a toxic element.

The adlib interruptions are what get me... it throws off the flow of the promo.
And the rest... I don't really care about. But it's like playing EWR -- when you use someone in 3 segments, they lose overness. I can take her in a segment or two, but when it's every other one... pretty annoying.

Which is again what sets SDLive apart from Raw. Bryan and Shane are not in every other segment and they don't emasculate their roster.

I just don't understand why if their goal is to have Stephanie on TV more so she looks more legitimate or whatever they make her SO unlikeable. If you want her as the on-screen authority figure just limit her to a few segments here and there and make her character more neutral. What the f*** do you have her yelling at your wrestlers and beating up announcers for?

So you just need to kidnap her, burn her favourite teddy bear and try to crucify her to get her to give you a little respect.

I know not everyone should be a bad ass like Austin or The Rock, but it's hard watching these wrestlers just stand there and take the abuse like total geeks. It isn't compelling TV at all.

I'm going to have to side with EoE: Well There's Your Problem here. I don't need to see Stephanie on TV every week anymore, and I'm bored with most heel GMs as a whole (except Dario Cueto, he's campy and awesome). And no, it's not entertaining hearing her talk down to the wrestlers if (or since) she's not going to get real payback. But the damage to the wrestlers isn't irreparable. Banks and Bayley were awesome before Steph's browbeatings, and they'll be awesome afterwards. And why the term "emasculation"? Would it be considered emasculation by most fans if it were a male GM? It wouldn't be any better for the wrestlers, no, but there are implications to the term I pick up that rub me the wrong way.

I have to agree with most of what has been said. Never understood the mentality that to sell a product you have to make it look bad.

Yeah, I've never said it wasn't bad writing or bad TV, hell I've often found myself muting her promos, so I'm not exactly a fan of her either. I'm just trying to see this how an impressionable casual fan would see it, and all I keep coming back to is that they probably don't overthink it as much as we do. I don't think they'd see it Stephanie trying to position herself as the alpha on the show over the peon wrestlers (at least outside of the context of the show)... They'd probably just see someone being a bitch and would feel bad for the babyfaces, as opposed to out and out giving up on them, because that's how the show's presented it to them.

I think the casual fans think it makes people look bad. I'm basing that off of my dad's reaction but he's as casual as they get and when she did all that to Big Show a few years ago (that was an EXTREME example) he wrote the Big Show off as a wuss. He didn't fight back. He just got smacked.
And people I think say emasculated because Steph is a woman. You can call it sexist but the fact she's a woman makes guys like Big Show unable to "win" against her. So her being a women is directly messing with the story arch. If it were HHH they'd just be able to knock his head off. Even when Daniel Bryan wins against HHH at WM the next night she's still shitting on him so what is accomplished.
I know I'm not breaking any ground here but whether hardcore fans fans don't like her because she's a selfish performer or casuals think she's either harming a wrestler's rep or just pay her no mind....what's the point then? Also I'm still annoyed at her smacking Dusty Rhodes' hand away. She can be the strongest character in the world, that's fine, but what is the point?

Even when Daniel Bryan wins against HHH at WM the next night she's still shitting on him so what is accomplished. She was proven factually wrong in her opinions by the fact that Bryan proved himself as the better wrestler by beating Triple H clean, and then Orton and Batista later that same night. Her words no longer had any credibility, no matter how often or how loud she'd say them. That said, I'd have found it more jarring and "spotlight-stealing" if Stephanie started kissing his ass and talking him up, to be honest. The heel NEVER just admits defeat like that unless they're about to turn babyface.
