I thought the first half of the year was boring, with La Familia dominating everything, post-brand split in June it picks up with HHH being the champ and his feud with Jeff Hardy.

So, we finally get the Big Show vs. Matt Jackson Last Man Standing match?

I worked every single Friday in 2008 and totally missed SD as a result. I do remember them doing HHH vs Shelton and HHH vs Undertaker, though. HHH vs Undertaker was interesting at the time given the legacy they both had developed at that point. I can't recall too many matches of theirs post-Attitude (pre-WM obviously). It was also interesting since they deliberately ignored it 3 years later to further promote HHH/Taker as a dream match at WM27.

I can't wait until the 2009 episodes go up. I've never even seen an episode of Smackdown I went to in June of that year. I missed everything during the MyNetwork TV era.

They also did Jeff Hardy vs. Undertaker rematch in late 2008 to help build him up for the WWE title win at Armageddon that year, it was pretty good from what I remember.

Wasn't this the year that Jeff Hardy rolled Triple H for a three count and Hunner immediately got up and held his fingers together real close to make sure everyone knew that Hardy barely managed to beat him and survive?

I think that was Armageddon 2007 when they were both on Raw, though they did have quite a few matches on Smackdown PPVs in 2008.

Amazing Hardy promo leading to that as well.

They have the episode with the surprisingly badass Undertaker v Festus match up now.

Outside of the amazing Jeff Hardy year long quest for the WWE Championship, I kind of hated Smackdown 2008. It was pretty much the example of Triple H's Ego Booking Vanity Run except he was the face. Like this was pretty much every Smackdown in a nut shell.
-Show opens up with up Triple cutting a promo -Promo is about how Triple is "I am Game. And I'm that Damn Good at being game." -Heel interrupts Triple H promo. Heel depending on the rotation is usually Shelton Benjamin, MVP, Brian Kendrick, or Chavo Guerrero -Heel says "I highly respect you HHH but I respectfully disagree with you that you are not game no more." -Triple H would make comments that borderlines into shoot territory burying the talent on either there look, wrestling ability, lack of overness, bad booking, size, or mic skills. -Heel gets mad and lays the first sucker punch but ends up getting clotheslined over the top rope by Triple H -Triple H would pose while The Game plays -It is later announced the main event is Triple H vs. which ever heel it was in a non title match -LOL TRIPLE WINS!

And yet, it was still not the worst thing about Smackdown 2008. That honor would go to the Vladimir Kozlov super push. I was at a Smackdown taping where Kozlov beat Jeff Hardy in the main event, and I don't think I've seen a live crowd ever so confused and disappointed, and this is coming from someone that attended Wrestlemania 32.
