Now, lemme make it clear I don't believe for a second that there's actually any 'monster' in there. There's not enough food for a huge predator among other reasons that are easy to glean if you take a scientific look at it.
That said, I'd probably still get the heebie jeebies doing it, and given the amount of peat and poor visibility, I think I'd decline.

sure, its not like Nessie has a track record of eating people.
wait... lengthwise swim or widthwise swim? bit of a difference in amount of swimming.

I don't really enjoy swimming, so I think I'd pass.

I would dive in and climb up for air, and take some notes without a care, I'd turn with a bash, and a crash and a splash, to the Family Ness......

Yeah, put me in the "it's the water keeping me out, not what's suppose to be in the water" category

Hell no, it's freezing up there. This. I've no qualms about any monster, but Scotland's cold at the best of times (I'm half Scottish so I'm talking from experience); getting in water up there is practically inviting hyperthermia into your life.

I'd rather go swimming in Lake Champlain.

Don't think I've ever seen someone there who wasn't in winter gear. So... no.

Nessie only eats fish and Scotsmen, so yeah I'd do it.

Depends. Is the water clean? Is the weather warm?

Nah, it always looks cold and grim. I have a rubber duck Nessie that my friend bought in Scotland and dipped in Loch Ness for me

I'd do it just to say I did it. I've swam in icy cold lakes before, and though it isn't my favorite thing to do in the world, it can be refreshing. Also, I'm convinced that "Nessie" is actually a pod of seals, and I love seals.

I don't swim in any body of water I can't see the bottom of. That and both times I've been to Loch Ness it's been bitterly cold.
