Roger Goodell has decided he will be at the NFC Title game Look, I get that anything that angers Patriots fans is totally acceptable by most but you have to remember that Roger Goodell claims to be the commissioner of ALL 32 teams, but since you-know-what, he won't go anywhere near Gillette Stadium. Don't give me "safety concerns" either, the dude has security and wouldn't be sitting with drunken Pats fans, he'd be in a luxury box. He won't go to Gillette because deep down, he knows that the entire saga was ridiculously overblown and in my opinion, if he felt so damn sure he did the right thing, he'd have the nuts to show up and conduct business as usual, as opposed to hiding like he owed someone money. Goodell is a spineless fraud, and this proves it

Hopefully Atlanta over whoever.
I don't like either AFC team, and can't root for GB given what they just did.

Goodell is a spineless fraud, and this proves it It also gives a off the image of impropriety when you have a league commissioner visiting 31 of 32 venues over the course of two full seasons and the one that he hasn't visited in more than two years is the one that he hammered with an absolutely ludicrous penalty for allegations that were questionable at best that also happens to be one of the premier teams in the entire league. We know why he's going to Atlanta and not Foxboro for Conference Championship weekend and it's got nothing to do with the Falcons, Packers, the final game in the Georgia Dome, or any other reason he or the league spins out there. It's because he's too chickens**t to come to New England and face the music and deal with the wrath of fans. Nobody's going to throw things at him, nobody's going to physically attack him, he just is too much of a spineless jellyfish to be booed when his mug appears on the big screen. He's the antithesis of David Stern. He's got all of Stern's trappings of megalomania and egotism, he just totally lacks Stern's self-awareness. Stern used to love it when fans would mercilessly boo him at the NBA Draft, but I honestly think it genuinely hurts Goodell deep down to his core that fans boo him yearly. That's why in the NFL's "Draft Day" movie, when he strolls on stage, he's met with a resounding applause from the audience.

Stern was a good oldfashioned pro wrestling heel. You could see him just eating it up as people booed.
He understood that if people care enough to boo, that means they probably care enough to spend a lot of money.
Goodell comes off like an old prick that can't face the music. And I hate the Pats, so I don't have any wacky vendetta against the guy. I just think he's a dickwad. He seems like the type of guy that would disown his own kid if they listened to the wrong music or just wanted to dance. He'd put baby in the corner.

In the Steelers' case, in their 2010 season, it's because of Big Ben's suspension, Harrison being fined up the wazoo and eventually suspended, and them voting against the new CBA, believing that it would greatly increase Goodell's powers. In the Saints' case, it's because of Bountygate, and the belief that Goodell overexceeded his authority.

As a Steelers fan, I can say a good many of us aren't fans of Goodell. Mainly because of the Harrison stuff.
I mean, we had Ravens players and fans saying his fines were bullshit.
The Ben stuff? That's serious. Sexual assault and rape allegations have to be dealt with. I can admit Ben was a giant dick, but he got straightened out.
I thought Goodell was going to be serious at first when he became commissioner. Cracking down on asshole players like Pacman Jones and others who thought they would get a slap on the wrist for shooting up strip clubs and stuff.
But he pissed that away REALLY fast.

Harrison kept tackling guys by leaping head-first into other guys' heads. He deserved a lot of those penalties. I get that he's your guy and you're gonna take his side, but he's playing 70's hits in the 2010's and OF COURSE that shit ain't gonna fly. A lot of those hits are nowhere near the line. They weren't bang-bang plays, that's just how he tackled. And if you're a league with a huge concussion problems, those the exact hits you need to take out. And I hate Goodell a lot, but Harrison was a habitual line-stepper and maybe just take the punishment?

Goddell dragged his feet on the concussion issue worse than anyone in his position possibly could have. After that, he could pull a Warren Buffett and give all his money away to charity and I'd still hate him. Hell, he still constantly f**** up on that issue even now.

It was Rodgers throwing a TD, Jordy Nelson catching a bomb and Blair Walsh missing a fieldgoal. I'm a huge Vikings fan and even I busted out laughing.

I'm not a gambler, but I do keep abreast of lines.
If I'm not mistaken, the 60 O/U for GB/ATL is the largest of the season. It's gonna be a shootout.

I picked GB over NE for 2 reasons.
1) The Packers are my team. Gotta ride it until the end. 2) I want them to beat the best team. Like it or not, that's the Patriots.
As depleted as the Packers are, maybe they can sign Desmond Howard for old-times sake.

Going to say NE dispatches the Steelers and Atlanta stops another Rodgers last minute drive. Then I'll take experience over offense and see if Goodell is man enough to hand the trophy to Craft.

I've said it before, but I can't stand how the NFL tries to remove any and all emotion and passion from the game, then tries to manufacture it and inject it after the fact. I'm willing to bet that's Goodell all the way.
We're never going to have the level of violence and brutality that used to be in the game, and for the most part I'm okay with that. Players are so much larger and faster now, people would be dying out there. But let the players be themselves, let them show passion and emotion for the game. Let us see that theyre just as invested in it as we are.
