I think my shit is finally dead. The fan was loud as f*** before and now it's quiet and I get the red Light and it overheat signal. Well time for me to take the plunge and get the PS4 pro.

That is pitiful on Sony's part if PS4s are dying after three years of use. Not surprising though since I am on my third PS3, to be fair the slim one did get fried in a thunderstorm. I guess they don't make electronics like they used to.

I know that consoles today are far more powerful and complicated than older ones but it comes to something when I could probably get my SNES down from the loft and it would still work perfectly and yet my PS4 will probably grind to a halt in a couple of years.

I have had two Xbox 360's die on me and one PS3. So far my second PS3 is still going strong and my PS4. I had my original Nintendo for over ten years and it still worked perfectly.

The only system I've ever had die on me was my first 360. My N64 still works fine. I don't know what happened to my NES or SNES, but they never stopped working as long as I had them.

I bought mine refurbished about a year ago. It runs fine, but it has started getting rather loud at first when a game disc is in it.

I've had 2 X-Box 360's, a Playstation 2, and a Playstation 3 to die on me. I won't play my PS4 over an hour because I'm paranoid about it breaking down and dying as well. All of my Nintendo consoles still work fine. Say what you want about Nintendo, their consoles are durable and you don't have to worry about them dying out of nowhere.

I lost an NES, but that's it. Getting it fixed cost more than buying a refurbished one from my brother, so I trashed it. I fixed my PS2. Then gave it away.

My DS Lite's in pretty rough shape by now. Was fine for years, then it just very abruptly suddenly had the top screen stop being able to stand up and the A button began badly jamming.

Yea I never had any of my PS2s break down on me but I had two of the original big model PS3s that broke on me. This will technically be my 3rd PS4 because when I got it day one it f***ed up after an update to the system and wouldn't read disc so they had to send me a coffin and sent me a brand new one.

I had like 3 ps2's (fine one was my brothers but still) and they all started getting the disk read error problems.

Mine still works fine. As does my PS3.
Hell, I have one of the Original Xbox 360s and I haven't seen a RROD yet.

The only gaming system I've ever had break on me was my Sega Game Gear (I think it was due to a common manufacturing fault). But my original Gameboy, NES, Sega Megadrive, XBox, PS1, PS2 and my PS3 are all still running fine.

My PS2 that was bought a week after launch still works perfectly.
I never wanted a PS3 or 4. They dont look like they are worth the money.

Honestly by now a PS3 is well worth it, since the consoles are really cheap by now and most of the heavy hitters on the system are a dime a dozen anymore. I just bought a PS3 a few months ago and already have a huge backlog on it just because it's super easy to get random shit on the cheap.

It's relatively "cheap" at 250 to 300 and there are a bundle of games at 20 dollars. The trend I've noticed is that games will become cheaper even be worth 20 dollars after five months or so. Even games like Final Fantasy XV was sold for 35 a month after it came out.

I've had mine for only a little more than a year and it works fine. Than again I seem to be really good with systems. The only home system I've had crap out on me is my Dreamcast (laser in the disc reader went to crap).
