D'Amore being signed back is the best thing that could come out of this, and as much as people crap on Dutch, he did make inroads with the Knockouts. But it's too little, too late at this point.

Yeah, I wouldn't call it "changing deck chairs on the Titantic" levels of pointless, but it's kind of like having storm windows put in on a Victorian house after the roof's already caved in.

And, TNA storytelling in that period virtually had the heels dominating most of the time.
While the hand they got is low spades, you need to have big heroes for people to rally around.

I can see that at least the shows themselves will probably be much more coherent and possibly be very good under this writing team

And, TNA storytelling in that period virtually had the heels dominating most of the time. While the hand they got is low spades, you need to have big heroes for people to rally around. A lot of old school bookers and writers thinks this way. I remember listening a podcast with Dutch and he was talking about his time in Porto Rico just before he joined TNA. And he said he made it a mission for at the end of every tv shows to have the faces having their heads kicked into ground. Cause he wanted to keep the heat going. That's what most of these guys thinks, you book for heat and you keep it going until you do a big show and then the bad guys get their common place. I'm not always a fan of this, but it would be hard to contradict it given how Dutch when he was booking there, they made a lot of money and drew incredible gates(one was 35 thousand people, I believe). And if like in the case of TNA you don't have big shows or house shows, it's not as crucial to do that.
