Heat-era LeBron was the biggest heel in recent memory, but current Cav LeBron is a babyface.
The Pats, in general, are heels, namely Brady and Belichick, but guys like Gronk and Edelman are really likeable.
The Diaz Brothers are good heels, but I unabashedly love them.

Two heels hogging the spotlight while guys like the Celtics and the Spurs are trying to end their reign of terror.

LeBron almost singlehandedly brought a title to his hometown, arguably the most moribund city in North America when it comes to sporting achievements. And the Celtics will never be babyfaces in the same way the Cowboys, Yankees and Habs will never be.

LeBron has had a Triple H esqe reign of terror in this decade.

LeBron is not a babyface. Prior to him leaving for Miami, "super teams" were almost always created by GM's. The Warriors drafted Curry, Klay, and Green. The Celtics drafted Pierce/Rondo and traded for Garnett/Allen. The Lakers traded for Pau, drafted Bynum, etc. The Spurs drafted Duncan, Parker, Manu, etc. The Pistons traded for Rip, Ben, and Sheed, and drafted Prince. OKC drafted KD, Westbrook, and Harden. And so on. That's just a few recent examples. James started the trend of players creating the super teams, which Kevin Durant followed.
The greatest heel move disguised as a babyface move was him going back to Cleveland. Look at the situation he left in Miami. He used up four years of Wade's prime, and then left him when Wade was 33-years old and on the downslide. Where did he go? Back home, to join Kyrie and Wiggins, who he was able to convince Cleveland to trade for Love. They could have won a title with Wiggins, and he could have mentored him to take over once Bron started to decline, but instead, wanted 3 stars again, and found a way to make it happen. Any sane GM does not trade Wiggins for Love in that moment. LeBron's finger prints were all over that move because he knew Wade's time as a top star was coming to an end, and he didn't want to wait for Wiggins to develop because it would have cut into his ring chasing time. Love was the safer short-term bet.
A friend of mine compares LeBron to Hulk Hogan (the character), and it's right on the money.

Michael Bisping is the perfect tweener in MMA. On the one hand he's a cowardly heel who you want to see get his comeuppance, but he's also charismatic and at times hilarious.

Zaza Pachulia and, to an extent, the Golden State Warriors can be seen as delusional but cool heels.

The biggest heels in sports right now are ESPN and sports fan themselves. Anytime anyone does anything good or noteworthy, those two are the first ones to question it, undercut it, call it overrated, and insult it. That's as heel as it gets.

Four pages in and no one mentions three of the biggest heels in sports history? Alex Rodriguez or as I like to call him A-Roid, Barry Bonds, and probably the biggest heel of all time if you're from Cleveland; Art Modell. Hell I'll throw in Marge Schott and George Steinbrenner in for good measure

I mean this isn't pro wrestling where results don't matter.

The New York Yankees will always be heels, win or lose. What about after 9/11? I guess I liken it to Evolution turning on Orton. But you know, not stupid. 😊 Even the most ardent Yankee haters wanted to see something good happen for New York after that.
