According to F4WOnline, TNA made a contract offer to bring Nick "Magnus" Aldis back to the company. Although, a deal hasn't been completed yet, talks between the two sides are serious.
Magnus originally signed with TNA back in 2008. During his time with the company he was able to capture the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, along with a number of other tag title reigns. After 7 years with the company, Magnus parted ways with TNA, here's what he said on leaving back in July of 2015.
"It was my decision. The way my contract was structured, without getting too detailed, they couldn't release me. There was something in there that prevented that, which was nice. It was due to roll over at the end of June. At the beginning of June I decided to give them notice that they hadn't contacted me regarding anything. It was structured that if they hadn't made contact about it a month out, I had the option to end it. There was a brief conversation, it was really friendly. I think they knew how I felt, and I knew they were in a position financially where it was getting difficult for them to honor contracts like mine. Not trying to disclose too much, but I got it on pretty good authority from the office that I was in the upper echelon as pay is concerned. I knew they weren't in a position to offer the same structure. A year ago I had made peace with the idea of leaving. I always delivered everything they gave me whether I liked it or not. I knew in my gut a year ago I wasn't going to stay."

And he's still GFW Global Champion, which isn't going to fight the rumours much of Jarrett coming in to merge companies.

Magnus you know NXT is in Orlando right I'm pretty sure he tried. I'm sure he's trying extra harder since Mickie James his wife is back with The WWE. And he has stated multiple times in interviews including when he was the TNA Champion he would like to wrestle with the WWE at some point in his career. But if he can't get into the WWE even when his wife is back wrestling with that promotion, dude got to be doing something instead of nothing.

I mean, real talk, Jarrett's his buddy, and it's not like he's exactly set the world on fire on the indies, so....yeah, not surprised here.

Magnus is a guy who had a real high ceiling when he started and then, for whatever reason, never got there.
This is whatever but I ain't gonna be tuning into no shows just to see Magnus.

TNA would probably be better for him. He'd get to wrestle and be around the top of the card while still being at home to take care of the kid while Mickie is touring.

I feel the same way about Magnus, as people do about Mike Bennett, Eddie Edwards, Braxton Sutter, or any other bland white guy: he's boring as shit, plain as f***.
He was fine in a tag team. As a singles star, he was plainer than white rice.

Magnus is one of those dudes who is absolutely competent. He's not great, he's not terrible. Calling him terrible would imply that he's memorable enough to leave that impression.

The timing is never better for him in NXT as well as Mickie being welcomed back, the UK title being defended on NXT TV (maybe to become the brands midcard title) means the story for his debut writes itself. Either he isn't interested or someone behind the scenes doesn't see anything in him. I'd be inclined to go for the former, they've signed much worse than Magnus.

All this Magnus diss makes me sad. What corporation draws up a contract like that? TNA, that's who.

If this is all true, and TNA somehow got themselves into a contract situation where they couldn't cut Magnus loose from it and despite him being on the upper end of the pay scale at a time they were slashing costs and salaries as much as they could, and a month out hadn't yet sent contacted him to renegotiate terms well ahead of it rolling over, well, that is exactly what I would except from TNA.

I'm shocked WWE haven't offered him a contract yet. Big, good physique, good looks, great talker, passable in the ring, a decently known name, only in his early 30s.
