I'll say it, a lot of the humor hasn't held up as well as I'd hoped. But that may be from seeing it 1,000 times. Others hold up better, but man if this isn't in my top 3 Simpsons episodes ever. Probably 2nd behind You Only Move Twice.

This is still, in my opinion, the greatest episode of The Simpsons of all time.

This is still, in my opinion, the greatest episode of The Simpsons of all time. Its definitely a strong contender. That it manages to juggle so many subplots and have them all be hilarious is really something.

What brilliant strategy by Mr. Burns to pinch hit Homer Simpson for Darryl Strawberry.

Good lord! GIGANTISM! Quite possibly, the best line delivery and reveal in the history of the show.

Mmmm....potato chips.
This was The Simpsons in its prime for me. It went off the boil a few years later.

Always the right time of year to rewatch it, too, with Spring Training getting underway.
"But I've got nine home runs today!"

I can't put into words how much I love this episode. I only loosely enjoy baseball, too. I'm a Cubs fan but never got too into it outside of that. Still, this one is so fun to watch with so many memorable jokes.
Watching the ending credits again reminds me of how PISSED I'd get when Fox would try and do those news updates or whatever over the song.
