I said in another thread that the sad thing about Enzo and Cass is they seem to absolutely need each other to gain any credibility whatsoever, but they suck in each other's role. Cass is a decent big man and can move well in the ring, but is just so bland on his own.. he needs Enzo to be his hype man. Enzo has that scary charisma where even if he's saying incredibly stupid stuff (and he is, most of the time), it still works somehow. But you put him in the ring and he's underwhelming, at best. However, you put Cass next to Enzo.. and Enzo has a right to talk all his shit because he has a seven footer waiting to back him up. You put Enzo next to Cass and you have a guy who's charisma is so off-the-charts, Cass can feed off it just by being next to him and it's not a Heyman/Brock dynamic, it's the loudmouth punk kid who can't do shit, paired up with the big guy who stands a good chance of pummeling you into the pavement. Away from each other, they're nothing special.. but together, they work well. I just wanna dispell the myth that Cass is 7ft. I met him, I'm 5'9 and he didn't tower over me. I think he's maybe 6'6 with lifts.... I'd love to see him next to Show, Taker, etc

If people are into the act, then the actual wrestling ability can almost be completely irrelevant as long as you don't metaphorically shit the bed in there. Enzo does tread that fine line, though.

At least Enzo was super over when he was called up and is still super over, moves merch, and gets crowds to care Take the opposite of that with Apollo Crews. He was called up early and literally the same time Enzo was. Dude can work really well, problem is, who the f*** cares? His personality is on par with stale bread. Enzo has a point, I'm not saying his in ring skills are severely lacking because they are, but he's what WWE strive for, people who are over as shit. He's being used in commercial brand deals, he has the crowd in the palm of his hand, and overall, he's one of the top draws I think they actually have right now on RAW anyway. Let's not act like Enzo will be the first or last guy to have minimal wrestling skill and still get super over, there are other guys who are the same way on the roster, Heath Slater anyone? I love Heath but whens the last time you saw him bust out more than five moves a match? Dudes personality has gotten him where he is. Personally I think No Way Jose could be next... it's just a part of wrestling, there will be guys with the total package of great wrestler and great talker... but sometimes all you need is the mouth, and Enzo has it. If the WWE actually had managers and used someone like Enzo as one, then you could get people like Apollo Crews over. The problem with Crews is he is bland, but he certainly doesn't need more time in developmental, because his skills are clearly ready. Enzo gets confused by ring ropes and has already hurt himself, someday he might hurt someone else. As far as comparing Enzo to Slater, no, just no, Slater can not only properly sell, but is actually pretty darn good at it and it's big part of the reason WWE kept him around for so long as an enhancement talent. He doesn't do any elaborate moves, but he's never really had to do them. Yes his personality helped quite a bit and has gotten him over, but he has been pretty far from a liability in the ring for most of WWE tenure, unlike Enzo. Slater is such a safe worker that he was trusted to work with Bret back in 2010.

Yeah, Slater is a really good wrestler. And by good I mean properly does everything and never looks dangerous or sloppy.
I'm an Enzo fan, but he's bad in there. Not Titus O'Neil bad, but definitely Alex Riley bad. When you talk like he can, you don't need to be Dean Malenko, but you've gotta know how to get tossed around properly. That rope bump isn't even something I'd expect to see on NXT. That's training camp shit.

Since we're on the topic of Slater:
The guy is one of the best sellers in the business today. He won me over years ago when he took Big Show's knockout punch at WM27, swiveled around and had a derp look on his face before he fell to the canvas. I've never seen anyone before or since take that move that well.
Dolph oversells sometimes, Slater sells the perfect amount.
And you can't. teach. that.

The best talkers usually tend not to be the best workers.

The best talkers usually tend not to be the best workers. Beat me to it. People tend to forget that total packages like Savage, Flair, etc, were the exception, not the rule.
