It doesn't work. He's lost too much credibility over the years and his gimmick has been treated like shit.

I personally like it because it adds to the unpredictability of multiman matches. It's always a let down to me when you have these matches and the winner is the person who's been in the main storyline most of the year.

I feel it would have worked better to have Bray win the Rumble and Orton win the title.

I do, but I would have preferred it happen while he was surrounded by his family. It would have made great storylines
However, Bray the babyface Champion is going to be gold!

Him being WWE champion somehow feels more surreal than AJ Styles as the WWE Champion as AJ Styles.
That just speaks volumes on how bad creative was to him the last 3 years

If they can put the title on Bray so that he and Orton can have a title match at Wrestlemania solely because this match has a long build: they better damn well do the same for Jericho and Owens

I certainly don't buy it. I've hated the Bray Wyatt gimmick since it debuted and I can't stand him in the ring. It's a total loss for me. And to add insult to injury it's all to lead to Randy Orton (or as I call him the most boring wrestler of all time) winning the title at Mania. A total loss on all fronts.

Meltzer and Alvarez were talking about this the other day like the WWE will bring in someone with incredible potential and people are raving about the wrestler. They'll give him some candy with a few wins then they will shoot him out right into main event feuds but they proceed to make him lose all the important match, then they loose interest in him and proceeed to destroy him at booking-level and they'll job him out like crazy. Then when there's nothing left into that wrestler, they panic cause they realise they've wasted him and they'll give him the belt. Like see, he is Champion now! Wyatt is textbook that.

I like him and am glad he's champion. At least the last couple of weeks, they've finally booked him in a credible fashion worthy of holdin a belt.
So good on em for correctin things.

Buying someone as champion use to bug me, but after seeing everyone basically get a world title run I've grown numb to it.

I feel it would have worked better to have Bray win the Rumble and Orton win the title. Should have Bray win the Rumble. Orton wins the title at EC. Then Bray gets the Mania win, crowning a new talent at the biggest stage of them all. It's like Bayley should have won the title at Mania too.

To add to it, their No Mercy main-event was really dull and plodding. The build-up to it wasn't great either, so I hope they do a better job this time, with higher stakes.

I buy him fine. I think it ought to have came earlier, but it didn't come too late by any stretch to me. Same here Surprised by the negative comments on his inring qualities. With the right opponent (like Harper or Orton right now) he can put out a great match. His match vs DB at RR14 was phenomenal, a favorite of mine

I just think a Bray babyface run is well overdue.

The problem with Wyatt as a face is that it will inevitably just seem like a cult leader that is playing the crowd for approval, only to be revealed as evil all along. His character just doesn't work as a sincere face.
Wyatt can be a solid wrestler but he's very, very uneven and sometimes the booking of his matches is awful and leads to wacky spots.

They had to get another full time guy up the card. AJ & Ambrose have wrestled each other every possible way. Cena is a part timer & Orton was the only other option. Elevating Wyatt brings Harper along & there is a bigger set of matchups for the show.
Whether or not he stands up as a champ/Main eventer remains to be seen.

Honestly Bray has always been one of the more protected guys. Sure, they have done stupid things with him, but they stupid things with everybody on the roster at some point. They just can't help themselves.
I'm still a fan of the guy, even if his gimmick has been watered down alot. But the story of a man who most would've written off after the horrendous Husky Harris days, who pretty much came up with his own character, something almost nobody else has gotten a chance to do in the WWE, and actually succeeded is wonderful. And I hope it means that maybe one day that will become the norm over people just being handed a gimmick and expected to get it over.
