There's French, and there's creamy! Those are dressings, so get ready to bow down, toss my salad and peel my potatoes!
*this is a Konnan appreciation thread. I've been watching a LOT of late 90's WCW lately, and he's one of the few bright spots in 99-00, so appreciate away.

I definitely appreciate Konnan. Back in early '99 he was my shiz nit and Top 2 favorite wrestler in all of wrestling. Mainly for his mic work, but he wasn't half bad in the ring neither.

I always liked giving his ridiclous "sommersault and then clothesline" attack to CAWs in No Mercy, I think it was. Plus, I thought it was nice of him to confirm back when Myspace was a thing that indeed he taught Bret Hart the Sharpshooter. I wrote him to ask. I guess that and his getting luchadors booked in ECW and WCW may be his biggest contributions to US wrestling.

How's his health? Seems he was in pretty bad shape awhile back He does a pretty decent podcast every week so I'd say he seems to be alright.

Tequila Sunrise was a nice move. I'm glad The Usos brought it back.
Oh, and I'm paraphrasing but... "You like this shirt? Go ahead and feel...THAT's ENOUGH!"

14/y/o me loved Konnan, but I can't imagine his work has aged that well...

Guy doesn't get his due for his contributions to bringing the Lucha style to mainstream wrestling. People are willing to credit guys like Eddie and Rey Misterio Jr, even giving Paul Heyman credit for discovering guys who'd already worked for WCW, but Konnan doesn't get as much praise as he should, no doubt because of the caricature he became later in WCW.
Konnan seems to have been an integral part of many things I loved growing up with wrestling, he taught Bret the Sharpshooter, he was the guy the Max Moon character was developed for, he helped bring the luchadores into WCW whose work I enjoyed even more than the NWO stuff going on around it and he had a fairly prominent role in early TNA too.

He was over like crazy in the Wolfpac days, I marked when he beat Jericho for the TV title.

When a saw the WCW show at the small theater at Madison Square Garden (Flair-Savage with special ref Bruno Sammartino) Konnan gave it right back to the fans: "You want ECW? Go to the f***ing bingo hall!"

I forget what it was called at the time. edit: it was the Paramount at the time.
