slam.canoe.com/Slam/Wrestling/2017/02/23/22706175.htmlAnother one I'm not going to shed one tear about. Sweetan was a pretty big regional name in the '70s and early '80s. He was also a convicted child molester, of his own teenage daughter. Odd how two horrible Bruisers are gone in one month. My favorite part of that article is where he caused a quasi-riot at a show and couldn't escape the crowd throwing chairs at him because the other workers had locked the door to the locker room on him.

At the rate horrible people in wrestling are dropping lately, I half expect Moolah to rise from the dead just so she can die again.
I hope his daughter can get some closure from his death, knowing now he'll never be able to do that to anyone else.

At the rate horrible people in wrestling are dropping lately Kinda sorta think it's the universe's way of making up for us losing good people like Ivan and Steele.

It's really sad that I've done loads of research on the subject of wrestlers being scumbags, and still have plenty of scumbags to learn about, like this fella. Seems like he was a real piece of shit, but hey, Mr. Piledriver is a pretty cool nickname. Too bad about everything else.

I used to wonder why no one talked about Bob Sweetan. Then I found out why and I didn't blame them.

For those that don't know, Bob Sweetan holds a rather infamous place in pro wrestling history. The first wrestling promotion to appear on USA Network was Joe Blanchard's Southwest Championship Wrestling. On one episode they aired a bloody match between Sweetan and Tully Blanchard. Apparently the match was too violent for USA Network because they received a lot of complaints about it, and between those complaints and Blanchard not being able to make payments to the Network on-time, USA threw them off the air and replaced them with Vince McMahon's WWF. This in turn has led to pretty much almost all of WWE's modern programming.

I'd never even heard of "Bruiser" Bob Sweetan until now. I have to say that he probably won't be missed by anyone due to him being such a rotten human being.

Damn, I didn't know the Zumhoffe stuff. Disturbing. Also one of the roughest looking 65 year olds even by wrestler standards.
