Don't hate me but I used to love the Police Acadamy movies when I was younger. But I tried watching Mission to Moscow last week and had to tap out after half an hour, it was absolute drivel. Sure, choose the worst one out of the series to watch. Plus that was a straight to video release I believe, but could be wrong. Give the earlier ones a shot, they are much better. On topic, I still like everything I did. TV is where I have changed. Except for the cartoons I used to watch, can still watch those. Yes, I think anything after 5 wasn't a theatrical release. I like 4 myself.

Surprisingly, I tend to defend Ace Ventura 2 far more than first one, simply because throwing him in the jungle with fictional tribal stuff allowed us to completely and utterly drop the premise of reality and focus on the gags. My stepdad, before his Alzheimer's set in, for whatever reason, thought it was the funniest thing ever. Sure, it's pretty daft, but I didn't go into it expecting Voltaire. Last Action Hero comes to mind. I thought it was a blast as a kid, but upon watching it recently, I can say that I have no idea who it was trying to appeal to. It was too meta, too "wink at the audience," and just utterly chaotic. I prefer the second one. I found that funny. First one I've always hated. Bumble Bee Tuna.

Not 90's but I loved Gladiator as a kid. Now everytime I watch a bit of it on TV I like it less and less.

I never liked it, but I hope Reality Bites eventually gets taken down a peg. Product of the times, but I hated everyone in that movie. Yep. I hate that movie. Ethan Hawke's character is an utter prick. The audience is supposed to feel sorry for him at the end because his dad dies. But by then it's too late, since he's spent 99% of the movie being a dick. Janeane Garafalo's character is worried about getting HIV, but seems to be proud of the fact she sleeps around with random guys. This was 1994 when the dangers of HIV were well known and there was really no excuse for such irresponsible behaviour. Ben Stiller's character bizarrely changes for no apparent reason. He starts off as a decent guy who puts Ethan Hawke's moron of a character in his place, only to turn inexplicably into a douche himself, although the version of Winona's Ryder's film he allows MTV to edit, is no less stupid and pretentious than her film was to begin with. I don't even know what Winona Ryder's character was supposed to be. I don't get what she did during the sequence where she fills cars with petrol and keeps swiping that credit card or whatever it was. The only parts of the film I like were Steve Zahn's character, and that Lisa Loeb song.

Another example is Camp Nowhere. After listening to the We Hate Movies podcast episode on that, it really made me see how it was a product of the times. Look at the fashions of the kids in that movie. It really does not hold up. I should know after actually watching it around that same time. This is one of my favorite movies. I never heard of We Hate Movies. I'm listening to it right now and laughing my ass off. The Christopher Lloyd impressions are killing me.

Assuming you're talking about the Cuba Gooding Jr. boxing movie and not Russell Crowe's Coliseum movie...that did come out in the 90s.

Yeah, I meant the boxing film, I actually managed to completely forget the Russel Crowe one, despite it being a much bigger hit.

You should listen to some other episodes from them. Those guys crack me up. I totally intend to. Although it was fun to listen to, they did make fun of stuff that didn't happen. ex: Christopher Lloud driving his girlfriends car. They spent a while making fun of that and the fact that the bully was in the car too. It was a car the bully found in the woods and used his share of the money to fix up.

I like 4 myself. Police Academy 6 was given a full theatrical release and Mission to Moscow was semi released theatrically but only for 5 minutes. I'm pretty sure Ron Ron Perlman has said that Warner Bros knew that the movie was a piece of shit and were praying that the movie would break even and then be quietly forgotten.

Well last night I tried to watch the first Wayne's World film and that put me to sleep (though the sequel still hold up.)

Wow that is the first time I have ever heard anyone like WWII to part 1. II isn't bad but the first to me was so much better.

Toys. The bizarre Robin Williams movie from the early 90s. I watched it all the time on VHS. I liked the weirdness of the whole thing. It's still plenty weird, but now it's just bad. That said, it will always have a soft spot in my heart.

I used to watch the hell out of that crappy live action Jungle Book with Jason Scott Lee and Sam Neill.

Pains me to say it but Jim Carrey movies. Same reason - probably outgrew it. Ace Ventura, in particular, was my favorite movie for many years. It cracked me up to no end, then, after repeated viewings, the immature humor wore off. Same thing with another low-brow comedy the next year, National Lampoon's Senior Trip. I loved the scene with farting on an eternal flame, then...meh.

The Big Hit. Good God, The Big Hit.
I think the Austin Power Movies have aged well, in contrast with most of Jim Carreys works.
And I'd argue Dumb & Dumber has aged well but the sequel stopped aging well the second it came out
