Okada, Tanahashi, Naito and Omega are the first four confirmed for the shows I was about to reply going 'You lucky sods, I'm jealous' but then I remembered I've seen Okada and Naito live and Tanahashi live twice. Only person I've never seen live is Omega. So I have no room to talk lol

AXS may show and air The G1 special live on TV on July 1st in primetime and then air the following day's show next week.
And the feeling for 2018 due to roster size, is to run joint tours in Japan and the US

Will be interesting to see how fast those go out Also wondering how they're handling it: whether by rearranging the current venue they're in to fit more seats, or by moving to one of the other venues within the Convention Center that might have a higher capacity. Judging by the announcement, looks like it's a limited amount, so most likely they've managed to rearrange the current room to fit a few more. Announcement said that all tickets being made available will be $30, but there are no more Meet and Greet tickets available.

A deal has been made between AXS and New Japan regarding the G1 specials and an announcement is expected next week. It looks as though they will be airing on there with the July 1st show being aired live.

They also put the small amount of new tickets on sale, and sold out in less than five minutes. Wasn't a lot of new seats, I think they basically just removed the side entrance way and filled in where the ramp was going to be, now they'll enter in from the corners of the room.
I'd still love to see them just move it into one of the bigger rooms, but I understand if that's too much of a logistical headache, for example figuring out how costs would be different, where to seat people who've already bought tickets, all that jazz.

Sounds as though New Japan underestimated their appeal in the US with how fast they were sold. No doubt they'll select a bigger place to have for the next time they come.

They've announced a contest for a chance to attend the shows as well as win autographed merchandise. www.njpw1972.com/8265

Looked at the WOTW report on 411mania and they're saying that the IWGP and IC titles will be defended on the shows.
That's huge if true.

It makes sense that both belts would be defended on the shows. It seems they really want to make a big first impression and this would be the way to do it

Piggybacking off the other thread here, last night at ROH/NJPW War of the Worlds it was announced that NJPW is bringing in a new championship, a United States championship, which looks like it's meant to be defended stateside and act as another step toward establishing a permanent touring US offshoot for the promotion.
With it comes our first announced contests for the shows, though all the participants have to be finalized: a tournament will be held over the two nights (unclear if it's single elimination or round robin) to crown the first champion, and the two first participants are Jay Lethal and Adam Page.

I have second row tickets for both nights and rented a sweet condo on the beach for the entire 4th of July weekend. I'm very excited!
